slide out leaking outside floor

after 5 year with a Sierra fifth wheel we notice the material under the slide out was rotted from getting wet causing wood rot and mold.
does insurance cover this?

Not normally unless you can show how something happened immediately. But if a seal seam or other cause of leak you're probably in a pickle.

Leaks are the worst and more often than not what you see is just a tad bit of the real damge.

Good luck. Not sure how handy you are but if handy you can fix it.

First thing is to find and rectify the leak.

I looks like it may be a manufacturer defect.
water would run down the side and run underneath the slide out and get the bottom wet.

Insurance won't cover any factory defect.

Factory probably won't cover it either.

Just they way it is. More likely than not this will be your problem.

I purchased the Preserve Elite plan extended warranty, maybe they will actually cover it.

Worth a shot . Keep us posted because if they do they will have a big jump in customer base.

Leaks are bad and hard to get covered unless a obvious one time accident happened.

9 out of 10 exteneded warry deals are so tough written it's hard to have a claim filled and approved. Especially leaks.

Good luck. I had a leaker and fell for you

We're pulling for you, we're all in this together

Unfortunately, a 3rd party extended warranty usually won't cover problems like this. It's excluded in the fine print.
But yours might be the rare exception.
What's the condition of the slideout seals? Any tears or cracks or detachment?
Many of us have a slide topper installed, which usually helps with water run off.
