Surge Protector

A buddy of mine is taking delivery of a 2015 365SAQ next week. His site in the campground does not have 50 amp service and they cannot install it until next season. The 365 will run on 30 amp but he will not be able to run both a/c's and perhaps some other appliances all together.

My questions are:
- Will the coach be okay running on 30 amp service?
- if he buys a 50 amp surge protector, and uses the 30 amp to 50 amp pigtail, will the 50 amp surge protector keep tripping since he will only be drawing 30 amps?

Any and all opinions are appreciated.
