touch screen rv remote

Question for those who have the touch screen keyfob remote that works landing gear slide outs ect. The remote looks like it has a spot on the bottom of it to plug in a charger like a cell phone, but my salesmen said it takes batteries. I took the screws out of the back of it but when i tried to pull it apart it felt like it was going to break, so i stopped and put the screws back in don't want to break it. So has anyone replaced the batteries or did anyone get a charger with there remote.
