WiFi Thermostat

I want to install a WiFi thermostat for my dual zone dometic AC units.

has anyone done this yet?

Not sure exactly what you have but dometic uses a different kind of thermostat that is connected to a control box in the AC unit. I'm sure someone else will chime in but I'm pretty confident you won't be able to do anything like that because a regular house thermostat won't work.

As Mmcglynn said, if you have a newer Dometic unit then you have the one with the digital communications and therefore you can't just replace the thermostat with a household model.

You can replace it, but you also have to replace the control box in the A/C and run new thermostat cable, which is usually the hardest part, because of how it's ran in and around stuff in the walls and ceiling.

This is true. I have the dometic that uses the digital comms.

I ran into the same issue in my home (Honeywell). Can't use a smart thermostat unless I pull both parts out.

If you have the Dometic capacitive touch stat, they now have a bluetooth version that is directly compatible. Otherwise you may be out of luck.
