2005 29RLBS Dump Valves

We have a new-to-us 2005 Wildcat. It is our third trailer, but the first with three tanks (grey, black, and galley). I find the valve configuration a little odd - perhaps I am just missing something. Would not be the first time...

The gray and black valves are to the front of the outlet, the galley is to the rear. All three use the one outlet. [ a picture would be great right here]
You can't empty the grey tank without also opening the black tank valve. That seems odd to me. We typically camp at partial hook-up sites, so it is not a big deal to dump black/grey/galley when we leave. Seems to backwash into and help clean the black tank.

At a full hookup site, how would I let the black tank fill up while draining the grey tank? Does anyone else have this configuration of dump valves?

Thanks!
David

Having owned a 2004 and a 2008 Wildcat, I can guarantee that isnít the way the tanks were plumbed from the factory. Iíd bet a dollar to a donut that a previous owner plumbed the black and grey together for whatever reason.

Sorry I donít have a real answer for you.

I had thought the same. The previous owner(s) has made several mods, but the tank plumbing and valves really don't look "messed with". Hard to tell. I will probably rig up a transfer pump from the grey tank for now, and eventually re-plumb the valves myself. That should be fun!

We have a Wildcat 30lswb and as Oakman stated it's not plumbed that way. Looking at trailer from left side, far right galley dump valve, far left gray dump valve, middle valve is black water valve and all to main drain pipe.I have a clear valve elbow that I'm going to put on this as I pulled the gray water(lucky it was gray)valve before hook up on my Jayco a couple of times as it was easy to get to.and soap water splashed out before I could get it fastened. Here are two pictures, first is looking left (gray then black) right is galley dump to main drain.

No idea if my sketch will come though... but, it shows the Grey, Black, and Kitchen tanks and the Valves. I've added another valve and clear 45 to the outlet. Seems like a weird way to plumb the valves. The original owner may have modified it, but I can't figure out what he was trying to accomplish.

It will be fine for our state park camping as I just fill all the tanks up before we leave and dump all at once (well, B/G/K). A full hook-up site is going to take a little thought. Eventually I will need to play plumber and reroute the grey pipe.

If this is my worst problem, I am in Great Shape!

Thanks,

I see you picture now. Mine is similar, but the black valve and elbow is rotated so that the pipe from the grey attaches before the valve.

Perhaps I should say, the black valve is after the black elbow...

What about running it this way, putting the black water valve before the gray water line run ?

My guess is it's been re-plumbed at some point.
Someone likely had road debris fly up and hit and break the pipes or a tire failed and tore the plumbing off.
You'll need to put your plumber's hat on and reconfigure.

Yes, I think that would fix it. That would make it match your photos. I think whoever put it together, just installed the black tank valve after the elbow instead of before. The parts are all there, just in the wrong order.

Did you go out in the snow to take those pictures? Thanks!
