2009 or 2010 Wildcat 31TS

I have a chance at a "09" or a "10" Wildcat 31TS is there a better choice?
Is the 09 the the first yr for the 31TS ?

If its different than my 6 gal quick recovery DSI water heater, I don't know. Ours works good to keep hot water for a family of four, with some recovery time in between showers. If you take 1/2 hour showers, you'll use it quick, but if you take short showers, you're good.

Thanks for the quick response. Is there much time for recovery ? all I have now is just gas and it stinks for recovery

We have found that the 6 gal DSI has been adequate for the two of us using it in the electric mode. It all depends on how long you shower. You can have both the gas and electric on at the same time for faster recovery. That's what I do when we first set up camp to get hot water fast.

I've heard the 6 gallon will make 12 gallons of hot water before the 10 gallon can make 10. I've never confirmed for myself; just what I've heard.

As both are new, it should come down to price. Is the 2009 model discounted enough to make up for it's one year of depreciation? When it comes time to sell it, its not going to matter that is was a 2009 bought new in 2010.

Does the 2009 still look brand new or does it look like it's been sitting on the dealer's lot for a year?

Do they both come with the same features/options/decor?

Personally, I'd choose the 2010. From what I've seen, the dealer seldom discounts the older, new unit enough to make me waffle.

Last fall, one of our local dealers had a new 2007 Mountaineer 326 RLT for sale...never been sold or titled. The decals were falling off of it, the fiberglass was discolored, the brightwork tarnished and pitted. He still wanted 65% of the original list price. Needless to say, I took a pass on it!

Good luck with your decision.

Dave

The 09 is at another dealer (Same Dealership) location and I haven't seen it yet. Yes it will come down to Price. My main concern is the research I have done it looks like 09 was the first year for the 31TS and I didn't know if there were some Bugs in them that they had to work out

It appears that 2009 is the first year for the 31TS. If it was an automobile, you'd tend to stay away from the introduction year. I don't think that the RV industry is quite that sorted out. It might come down to little things...I'm willing to bet that the LCD TV is bigger in the 2010 following the trend with other camper year over year.
