2011 or 2010 Wildcat?
I am in the process of purchasing a new 25RL Wildcat fifth wheel from a dealer who told me it is a 2011 model. When I went to the Forest River website to download a brochure, I found out that this appears to be 2010 model. In fact they no longer make a 25 RL model in 2011. The manufacture date tag on the camper said April of 2010. Am I getting Duped or what?

There should be several tags on the trailer with the year of the model. Look on the outside by the entry door, inside of the entry door jam, and also on the side with the hookups near the front. If you still have questions you could call FR with the vin number.
When my TT was brand new I had a hard time locating the brochure online for it even on the FR website. This might be one of the models not available throughout the entire US. If you are using the FR site try selecting another area and see if the information pops up or not.

On a car, the 10th digit of the vin # tells the year model. In 2000, it started back with digits, in 2010, it reverted to letters, so an "A", would be a 2010, a "B" would be 2011, and "C", would be 2012.
I assume the concern is over the depreciation. Buying a 2 year old "new" trailer, you should still get the factory one year warranty, as long as it has never been titled.

If it has a build date of April 2010, it should be a 2011 model. You should be able to tell from the VIN...I think the 10th digit should be a 'B' for 2011.
I hope you got a great discount...although it brand new, it has depreicated two years once you drive it off the lot.

Windrider, our 2010 Rockwood has a 'A' for the 10th digit. I think for 2000 to 2009, the 10th digit was '0' through '9'. For 2010, the 10th digit was 'A' and onwards.

Thanks Dave, caught my error, and edited my post. I too, am slow on the return key, or maybe too fast, and that was the error.
Also did a search, and on some cars, the ninth digit, or letter, is the month. A equals Jan, B equals Feb, and so on. Still don't know about campers.

We DID, in fact, produce 25RL units as 2011 models. Our model year change date does not typically coincide with floor plan, features, and options changes (unlike the auto industry).
Long story short: there are 2011 25RL units out there in dealer's inventory. Not many, but a few...

This is correct! A 2011 Wildcat should start with a "B" in the last 8 of the VIN.
It's also important to note that the 25RL was a full Wildcat (with all Wildcat features and options available), unlike the eXtraLite 252RLX which replaced it (which had a more limited feature/option set starting with the 27RLX in early 2010).
