34FLR water leak

I have a 2011 34FLR and after I turn on the water heater for 30 minutes or so the water filter starts to leak around the screw on canister. It doesn't do it every time, but it has happened 3 times now.. I've replaced the water filter canister O-ring and always make sure the canister is tight. This has only happened after starting the water heater. I do drain the water heater after every trip and it seems to happen after the tank has been empty for a couple of weeks. Is there a back flow check valve on the cold water input to the water heater to stop pressure from going back into the cold water input? Has anyone seen this before?
