Brian Knight is a top notch asset to the Forest River Company. It would be nice if more of the higher up in the company could follow in his footsteps.

Slab Hunter I was one year out of factory warranty with my FR 5th wheel and found my never lube bearings were starting to come apart. A common problem and a safety hazard. My dealer dealt with FR factory and he got and installed new 6000lb axles and easy lube bearings at no cost to me. He was paid by FR to do the work.

Hi Chris. My name is Mike and I have a 2010 Wildcat 31TS fiver. I have a problem with the 12 volt system. I put new batteries in and, just on the batteries, the hydraulics work fine but the other 12 volt things (light, fan, etc) don't. When I plug into the house everything works. I've checked all the fuses and they're OK. However, the led lights on the converter that light up when you pull a fuse don't come on (most don't anyway) when I pull that fuse. I also checked the reverse polarity fuses & they're OK. Any thoughts?? Is the converter screwed??

There is another one under the pin box under the red cover.

The reset button is on one of the short sides:

It could also be corrosion on the terminals.
A bit of sandpaper may make it all better.

Thanks for the super quick replies. I did find the red rubber covered one that comes directly from the battery. It has a little black button & I pushed it & nothing happens. I can't find one under the slides. I have a Reese 5th Airborne hitch and the truck is not connected. The 12 volt stuff still won't work just off the batteries, but the hydraulic slides work just fine as the power comes directly from the batteries. Any other ideas?

Wildcat 31TS. The slides are hydraulic, work directly off the batteries, and work fine just on battery.

Mine has nothing at the hitch. But down by the pump on mine to the left is a rubber flat that is covering several of those circuit breakers. mine auto reset but yours might not. also need to see if it has a battery disconnect switch some do. check the attached files.

There is a resettable current limiter near the battery to protect the battery from a direct short. There is also a similar current limiter (in all trailers) located very close to the metal box that the umbilical cord goes into. This protects the camper from a direct short as a result of a severed/shorted umbilical.

It is there; 5th wheel or travel trailer, you may just not have found it yet.

Thanks for all the responses & onetonford is the MAN!! I never know that those little boxes has resets on them. There are 3 & the middle one has no reset. The bottom one was popped & resetting it does the trick. Never had any problems before & learning is good. Thanks again!!

Thanks Herk7769. I did find the one coming directly off the battery but it wasn't popped. Onetonford came up with the answer. Thanks again & I'll look for the other red rubber covered limiter. Funny, put 15K miles to AK & back & never had a problem & problem happens sitting in driveway.

You may find that corrosion (high resistance joint) at the wire terminals could have been the problem. Opening a slide after a long winter's sleep may draw more amps than normal; coupled with current loss at the joint may have put you over the top.

My limiter under the 5th wheel pin box failed due to corroded terminals. You can actually see the burned red wire going into the red cover in the photo.

Slides and front jacks worked on battery but converter power was not getting to the battery to charge it. With this limiter open the truck would not charge the battery either.

Rear jacks not working

I've got another problem with my Wildcat 31TS. The rear jacks won't work. I checked the circuit breakers under the black rubber flap & they're OK. Anybody else have this problem?

I recently bought a 295RSX, and I am looking to change out the standard king pin box. Question is that I have looked at MOR ryde, and Ariryde systems, but confused on what the one on there currently is. The sticker says MOR ryde SPB72-1621LD, but whenever you look up your system on the various websites, they never list morryde as an option for your current system. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Sorry... it looks like this thread may have been hijacked...sorry if it was.
jkrise......
Just to help confuse you a little...
I have a Wildcat 30rlbs and hated the stock pin box .
In the truck I have double pivot 5th wheel hitch.
I experienced severe chucking and when we hit dips or bumps in the road the jaw shattering thuds were carried right through the whole truck & rig.

I too looked at MOR ryde, and Ariryde systems.
The Mor-ryde would take care of the 'chucking'... and the Air-ryde would certainly help with the 'cushioning' of the dips and bumps.

However, I chose the "Ultra-Fab Trail Air Tri-Glide 5th Wheel King Pin Box."
I recently came back from the maiden trip with the new Trail Air Pin Box and I was astounded at the difference and improvement this made to our 30 day trip.
No chucking, smooth starts and stops, no jaw shattering thuds.
The 5th wheel glided along behind ... the dips and bumps were cushioned nicely by the air bag...I could see the action in the rear view mirror.

Note: as a 'test' I set up some items inside the 5th wheel, bottles in the cupboard, a plastic buckle on the table, a cd disc on a shelf ....all these items and more were exactly in the same spot upon arrival.... from experience prior the Trail Air Pin Box I know that "everything" had to be lashed down and tucked away.
The softer ride can only be easier on the 5th wheel frame as well for the truck and most certainly... more comfortable for the driver and passengers.

in closing...I am a "happy camper" with my 'Trail Air Tri-Glide Air Ride '.

2014 Wildcat Max remote receiver location

I Just bought a 2014 Wilcat Maxx 5th wheel. I have a second remote control for the slides, awning, landing gear and I need to sync the remote to the receiving unit only problem is I don't know where the remote receiver is located. Any one here know it's location in the 5th wheel? Thanks in advance.

Dometic AC Return Air Filters

Rick,
I have a 2015 Wildcat 327CK with two AC units. Neither unit has AC filters in the return vents. This is a ducted system with two return vents in the bedroom and livingroom. The vents are screwed into the ceiling and there are no filters in them or anywhere else in the RV. I had the dealer look also. They are just as confused as some of the reps say it doesn't need filters and some say it does but didn't come with it. The vents are not made for constant filter replacement. I called Dometic and they emphatically state there should be filters there. I called the Forest River Customer Service and they reps do not know. All ACs that I know of need a filter. I also looked at another Wildcat different model and length and it also does not have filters in the ducts. Any ideas would be very helpful, thank you.
