The best way to haul bikes on a new Wildcat is by purshasing the optional bike rack from the factory! However, after the fact, this gets a bit more difficult due to the specific warnings from Lippert Components (your Wildcat's frame manufacturer) about mounting on the factory bumper or modifying their frame. Modifications to the frame CAN void the warranty -- please contact Lippert Components' service department for more information:

The optional factory bike rack looks like the folding bike rack pictured here:

Thanks Chris! I sent them an email. Will see what they have to say.

Well, the frame manufacturer said that ANY modifications to the frame will void warranty! That sucks.
So now I'm gonna add a hitch receiver or one of those hitch receiver that mounts to the rear bumper. I'm looking at a Swagman trailhead 4 bike carrier.
Any input on this? Will either of these cause damage to the frame???

bumper mount is a BAD idea! Not meant for that kind of leverage.

It won't effect the frame, but you'll likely break the bumper mounts or twist the bumper and drag your bikes down the road unknowingly until someone pulls up beside of you and flags you down that you're sending a pretty awesome sparks display. True story- happened to good friends of mine.

my last two trailers, I had a bike rack mounted and traveled with 4 bikes attached, not once did it fall off and drag on the ground, and we put some miles on them trailers, plus Mi roads are terrible, if they can endure that I guess I was lucky. But my current coach came with a hitch installed from the factory rated for 300/3000

Lippert has some bike hitch receivers. Have to get measurements of your frame and call them and ask if any of this will fit your trailer.

Attached to just the sewer-hose-carrying bumper? I'm surprised from what my buddy experienced and have read. (Seriously; not being sarcastic.)

Before the current crop of "Lite" and "Ultra Lite" campers, frames were built like tanks. Today to save weight and "try" to make previously 3/4 and 1 ton towables "1/2 ton" towable, the frames have been paired to the bone.

In some cases (IMO) too far.
Your call whether you are willing to risk it all if the bumper or frame fails.

Don't forget, Murphy says you will most likely be dropping all that hardware on the expressway at 70 MPH in front of a van full of kids.

Rear Bike Rack

Our 2013 Wildcat 302RL had the spare tire mounted on a metal post that was clamped to the rear bumper. I had my dealer move the spare tire to the area behind the front landing gear with the ability to lower it with a cable, very similar to my truck spare. (I've noticed other 5th wheels have the spare tire located there).
I purchased a two bike rack that clamps on the rear bumper. With my two light weight bikes, I am sure that it weights less that that big spare tire and mounting post. Also the Swagman bike rack is clamped in more places than the one place of the spare tire, which should spread any type of load.
I did take a graduate course in strength of materials and feel that my bikes put less load on the bumper and frame than the spare tire.
I am not sure that a 4 place bike rack would be less than that spare tire.

ted, is that a aftermarked kit to relocate the tire because mine is also on the bumper and I have the same bike hitch you have and I cant carry bikes with only one platform. I do have a factory 2inch hitch but, I do not want to buy a hitch for that

I have the exact same bike rack as Ted. For the moment, I have moved the spare tire to the front storage compartment. If I can find Ted's spare tire mount, I will move it under the trailer.

I think Lippert makes and sells a spare tire mount/crank down system.

I'd be interested to see more pics of the spare tire mount. And how it attaches to the trailer.

I though about moving to the downstairs storage but I do not want to give up the space I want it in front of the stabs in the rear because I am getting real close to overloading the trucks axle with pin weight

My dealer did it for me at a reasonable cost. I'll ask how how he did it the next time I go by his location. The dealer did give me the Wildcat post and clamp that was not used in his mod. The dealer also gave me the long crank to lower the tire. Good dealer.
As noted in another post, I'm sure the spare could be located behind the axles instead of in front. The mod has to be mounted on a cross beam.
Hope this helps someone because I read a lot of the mods for ideas.
I'll be at the 2nd International F.O.R.G. Rally in August. Hope to meet some of the "old heads" and others. Look for my blue lights.

Here is a picture of the attachment. It looks like a kit with a small mod. The mechanic welded a small angle iron in four places to the bracket where the tire is against the bracket in the stowed position. There is also a rod that extends to the outside trailer main beam so one can lower the cable. I misspoke when I said I got a crank from the dealer. That was on a previous trailer. I can lower the tire with a 1 inch wrench because there is a bolt on the end of the lowering rod.

We have traveled about 10,000 miles with this mod last year with no problems. You can have a personal look at the August FROG Rally. We will be only one out of over 300 campers.

Waiting for replacement parts for over a year.

We have a 2010 32bh2b that has been at the dealer's more than it has been in our driveway. We have been waiting for replacement parts for over a year now (mainly interior cabinet doors that fell off during first trip, replacement valves for gray and black water, etc). Now an exterior compartment door was torn off in an accident. We leave for a camping trip in 2 weeks and I know there isn't a way for our dealer to fix the exterior door in time for our trip. We CANNOT go on this trip without that door.

We are more than capable of replacing the door ourselves. Where can we find the replacement door? There must be some way we can order the part ourselves without having to cancel our one and only vacation so we can wait another year for replacement parts.

Someone please help.
