BHX312 2014 Fresh water 1/3 full all the time!

Hello everyone,

I Need help. I have a new 2014 WildCat BHX312OK and I cannot get the fresh water tank to empty completely. I turned on the water pump till the faucet sputters and unplugged the drain to the fresh water tank plug. I know there is water in the tank because I can feel the bladder holding the water slouch around when I get underneath and push on it. The fresh water seams to be resting on the under floor insulation, which doesn't seem right. Has anyone encountered this problem before? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Danny

My 2013 312bhx is kind of the same way. To get all the water out of it, I leave the drain cap off when pulling the camper. I don't know why the pump can't suck out the last 1/3 tank of water.

Sorry to kind of jump this thread but where is the fresh water drain. My last camper had a hose sticking out of the bottom with with a valve.

The fresh water drain is usually located right next to the fresh water tank and is either a valve or just a small hose (sometimes blue) and is capped. To drain remove the cap or turn the valve 90degrees. Hope this helps.

Ok, I guess the one I found was the drain, however, just like you stated my tank says it has water in it but nothing drained when I removed the cap. So, I didn't think I had the right one!

similar problem

I have a 2014 303bh and experienced the same problem. The tank guage showed 1/3 and the pump was unable to prime or pump any water. I removed the drain cap, and water drained out steadily for 20 minutes or so, so yes there was a lot of water there. I have since winterized and will likely take it to get fixed in the spring.
The pump is a long ways away from the tank and sits higher than the top of the tank, maybe too far away to suck the water up to it??
Maybe Wildcat Chris can tell us if others have had the issue?
Matt

I was having the same problem. When I removed the underbelly cover, the bottom of the water tank was bulging down about 8". I put plywood under the tank to support it and problem solved.

To all the BHX 312 and similar owners out there. The fresh water tank will bulge down about SIX-EIGHT INCHES causing the tank to never be less then 1/3 full. The droop can be corrected by bracing the tank with metal bars or plywood. It will never completely drain either. Thanks toff-holm and Olaf for figuring this one out.

I will second this as I just verified it with mine. I climbed under the camper and pushed up on the tank which then began to drain. Seems like a problem that wildcat Chris needs to pass along! In the interim, I guess I will be taking the bottom off to cob mine up!

This is not something I've heard about before. I'll have this issue reviewed by engineering and production tomorrow!

Yes, thank you. It's a bummer that my pump starts sucking air even though it shows 1/3 full.

Yep, mine does the same. 1/3 tank and no water suction or draining. Definately sounds like an engineering error.

Do the tanks have straps holding them on/in place?

Are you going by the gauge or by actually looking at the tank? Gauge is probably wrong.

There is definitely a lot more water in my tank after the pump starts sucking air. Mine isn't a gauge issue.

Both. after the gauge was still reading 1/3 full I took the trailer out and about with the drain cap off and noticed more water running out when leaning lower in rear and to the left. Then removed enough of undercarriage covering to see tank. Can see lot of water still in tank.

How is that being determined? Just asking.
