Third time the charm

Well wish me luck! We plan to pick Wildcat up from dealer that has had it for a month to try to fix all the problems. I hope third time is the charm as we plan to go to Bowling Green Ky for the Hot Rod Reunion. This time will make them plug in power and water and check every thing before I hook up to it. Last time took there word for it and didn't check everything until we went on first trip. I hope to never see this dealer again !

Sorry about all your troubles. Things just shouldn't be this way. Can't help but ask, so don't get upset with me, but did you buy both units from same dealer? We bought ours from a Jax FL. dealer & have had excellent service with the few problems we've had. They have treated us very well.
Anyway, good luck on your trip to Kentucky, hope it goes well with no problems.

Well so far so good everything repaired like dealer said. Been a lot of changes at Travel Camp RV. A few new people and quite a few gone so we will see. Hope I won't need anymore work done. The Silverback we bought from a large dealer in Ocala fl. We had hoped to get short 2 or 3 day trip as a shake down but no time. I think we will stay in it in the back yard to make sure no more bugs before KY. We really like the floor plan of this 5er and hope things get relaxing and enjoyable. I will keep you posted.

We had the same thing happen on our Wildcat 295RSX. Opened the door at the campsite on our shakedown cruise and that same end cap was on the floor. Our dealer reinstalled it and I hope they used some strong wood glue as I suggested.

Well got to bowling green ky. Open the bathroom door to find shower door handles on the shower floor. Are you kidding me! These were repaired also during one month stay at travel Camp Rv in jax fl. Now left rear out rigger refuses to go up or down with switch just makes noise. At least I can put it up and down with a 3/4" socket. How can you enjoy I enjoy our Wildcat when it's just falling apart every time we take it out. Everyone I meet while camping I am sure to tell them what a piece of crap Forest River is and tell them not to buy their Rv. Click image for larger version

Wow, that is pretty amazing. What I find even more disturbing though is that this is the second item that was "Repaired" by Camp RV in Jax, FL.

Also I am confused why you are blaming Forest River for repairs made by a Independent dealer (unlike the auto industry, the RV industry does not have franchised dealers).

I agree these defects SHOULD have been remedied at the factory in the first place, but is sounds to me like the issue at hand is poor repair service. I'd make sure that the management at the dealership knows about that!

Finally, on your way back to FL, if you have any further problems I cannot recommend Hood RV in Decatur, AL highly enough. They specialize in Forest River towables (and nothing else). Their service department is second to none! Drop me a PM if you need further information.

Hey Bob thanks for the heads up about Hood Rv. I blame FR for poor quality build and cheap appliances. Your are right about the main problem is the dealer. Our sales person and general manager both left because of problems with the crap there. I have spoke to the owner on three occasions and have better luck talking to my dogs. When I complained about the quality he told me that's why I have warranty to deal with problems. When I bought my truck it had warranty also but very minor problems and the were fixed first visit. These guys have had our Rv three times and same problems. Then they have it for a month at a time and still can't fix. I just want to know if FR will send me the warranty parts or does it have to go to the dealer. Over the years we have dealt with three different Rv repair shops two incompetent one a down right crook. So when we get back I am going to call FR and see what can be done. At this point just going to enjoy our trip deal with it later. Thanks Bill

I had a problem with my remote control controller The front landing gear would no longer go up and down with the remote and I found the problem with the controller itself and I was able to get forest river to send me the controller straight from the factory rather than to deal with my dealer

Well hope 4th time is the charm. Went to Travel camp Rv to pick up our Wildcat from another month long visit for warranty work. They had plugged in and opened up for our walk thru. Looks like everything is fixed and no damage done. The only problem we had is the dealer paid for FR 2 year warranty as part of the deal and have paper in closing paperwork showing it was done. We have never gotten anything from FR saying we have it and keep asking the dealer and they have nothing from FR. Can someone that bought this warranty tell me if they got anything from the factory. Well got a tripped planed to Fort wilderness in a few weeks. Got my fingers crossed that things are fixed once and for all

With our second year warranty, after filling out the form and sending a check for $150 our form was returned, signed and dated at the bottom by FR rep.
