Delamination question
Looking to buy our first 5th wheel. Came across this 2010 32qbbs. My wife and I really liked the floor plan and the camper was in nice shape.
One big red flag was what appears to be delamination above the slide out. Would like to get some opinions. Water damage? Or factory default? Feels solid behind it. No signs of water inside

Definitely delam, probably due to water intrusion along the roof seam.
Previous owner probably didn't do maintenance.
PASS on it unless you want a project.

Seriously Dan ?? "probably didn't do maintenance" ? I had some slight delam on my 2007 Jayco and every spring and fall I checked and filled all caulk lines that looked separated. Even the slightest pin hole can get moisture in it and do some delam on a trailer.

You can get delam with NO water intrusion. If it was soft behind it then I'd blame water.

I said probably, meaning over 50% chance.
IMHO, most delam is due to poor maintenance. But of course there are exceptions such as yours.
Most RV owners don't perform proper maintenance.

Really wanted to put this out there to see if it was a common problem with Wildcats? Owner is saying that it is a common mfg defect

Go thru the used section at a dealership and you'll see it's not confined to a certain brand or model. It's a problem that spans many brands and models. Sometimes moisture...sometimes mfg. defect.

It's a huge red flag and probably the reason it is for sale....I would pass on it and keep looking.

I agree, sun (heat) can cause it also, water can also cause it, but on my roof repair a lot of the damage was excessive heat as much as water damage that causes the luan to delaminate or break down.

Dan is correct. I would place it that 85% do not do any seal maintenance to prevent water.
I highly doubt it just happened!

My 32qbss has a couple small spots staring at the rear corners. Love the layout of this trailer but not the quality. Have had it since new in 2009 and kept under a cover it's whole life.

I drove a class a 25,000 miles with some delamination from water damage (i suspect), it drove just fine, operated just fine, sold just fine.
I'd guess price would be a major factor here. If the price were very nice, I'd have it looked at by a professional shop to be sure there isn't a more major structural problem.. then maybe still consider it.
