Flashing green light in circuit breaker box?
During the night noticed a tiny green light flashing in our circuit box. What does it mean? Never saw it before.

Flashing green light in circuit breakers
Saw a tiny green light flashing inside our circuit breaker panel last night (in the dark). It is still flashing. What does it mean? Anything I need to do? We have a 323 Wildcat fifth wheel.

Can you post a photo of the location of the flashing light?

If you have a Progressive Dynamics power center, the green light is the Charge Wizard letting you know the rate of charge to your batteries.

Chascin is it supposed to blink all the time when I am plugged into 50 amp service? The electricity was out for 2 hours yesterday morning, so some battery was being used but still blinking today?
Doesn’t the battery get fully charged?

From the Progressive Dynamics web site...
The charger board is equipped with an LED (Light Emitting Diode) that indicates the charging status as follows. (LED optional on some units)
Light “ON” all of the time – The battery is being charged.
Rapidly Flashing Light – The battery is approximately 90% charged.
Very Slow Flashing Light – When the light blinks approximately every 5-10 seconds, the battery is fully charged.
Progressive Dynamics Basic Operation

If the light is flashing 6-8 sec intervals the battery is fully charged and in maintenance mode. when the light is solid, the battery is being charged in Boost mode at 14.4 volts till it reaches 90%. Then the converter switches to normal mode, once per sec and is being charged at 13.6 volt. If you lookup Proressive Dynamics website you can download a manual that will explain this and tell you how you can change the charge rate.

Good. I was worried. Didn’t know the green LED was part of the EMS. I’m guessing by tomorrow the blinking should change. Many thanks for all your help!

The flashing light has nothing to do with your EMS other that letting you know your converter is getting 120v to charge your 12 v batteries. EMS checks and measures your incoming 120v power and amp usage by what you have running in your camper. this includes your converter that is charging you 12v dc batteries

Just so you know, Progressive Industries makes your EMS. Progressive Dynamics makes converters. Two separate companies.

Is your EMS portable or hardwired? If hardwired some have a remote that shows voltage and amp usage.

The Charge Wizard Operation automatically determines which operating mode is best suited to recharge or battery condition, the Wizard Mode Button allows for manual override and has indicator light(s) to indicate the mode of operation. maintain optimum While the built-in Charge Wizard NOTE: The Green LED on the left refers to the Charge Wizard converters built prior to year 2000) BOOST MODE – Indicated by green LED remaining on. The output voltage is 14.4VDC to rapidly recharge the battery up to 90% of full charge. NORMAL MODE – When the battery is between 50% and 90% charged, the green LED will flash once per second. When the battery has reached 90% of full charge the green LED will flash 2 - 3 times per second. In this mode the output voltage is 13.6VDC and the converter is safely completing the charge of the battery. STORAGE MODE – Indicated by green LED flashing every 6 - 8 seconds. In this mode the output voltage has been lowered to 13.2VDC, the RV battery is fully charged and the converter is maintaining the charge. - the Red LED on the right was for the Charge Sentinel (supplied on MANUAL BUTTON - The manual button has been provided to allow the operator to temporarily override the converter (not recommended) or to verify the converter is operating properly. For manual operation, Press and Hold the button. The indicator light will soon remain “ON” indicating Boost Mode. Continue to hold the button and the light will blink rapidly indicating the converter is in the Normal Mode. Continue to hold the button until the light blinks slowly indicating the converter is now in the Storage Mode. After the manual button is released the converter will stay in the selected mode. When the battery charge status changes, the converter will return to the automatic mode of operation to prevent damage to the battery.
