Full time in a Wildcat model
Thank you for any advice and opinions on full timing in a Wildcat models 272, 282 and 293REX. This fisherman and good cook are hoping to spend next winter in a warmer place, probably FL and then see the country. We are unsure of our plans are new at this and would love to hear comments and advice on the Wildcat model, especially the 293REX.
Appreciate your suggestions!

We have been spending the winters in the southern US for 20 years. We've done it in 3 different Class A motorhomes, a Class B motor home and a 24RG Wildcat MAXX (29' TT). It seems to me that floor plans are strictly an individual choice and you can "live" in almost any RV you own. My recommendation, find a model/floor plan that feels right to you and go for it.
It's really the experience as much as it is the RV you do it in!

We just purchased a 2014 293REX & hope to be FT'ing in it in 1 - 1.5 years. We won't get to use it until spring so I can't give any personal advice on it. It is our 5th RV so we knew what we wanted in a floor plan & features & that's why we chose it. We can't wait to move in. Leet us know what you pick.

I think we could full-time in our 295RSX. Sorry, I don't have experience with the specific models you listed!!

Thank you all so much for the comments! We are in southern NH and have to travel far to see models so the internet is valuable. I wish sales people would take this into account and take more pics with cabinets, etc. open and pics of the floors and ceilings! And pics of models with the slides in!
That's my 2 cents!

Boatless,
I bought a new 2014 313RE in July. It has been at the dealership for repair since then and still is. When I want to use it I pick it up from the dealership or they deliver it. (200 miles away).
I can't recommend Wildcat due to quality control issues. The factory quality control is non existent. I seriously doubt that there is any check done on the units when they leave the assembly line.
I can't recommend Forest River due to there lack of concern or timeliness in correcting the issues.
If you do get one. Make sure you get a dealer that is close with a good service department. Also check everything top to bottom on pre-delivery and don't hesitate to walk away from the deal.
My 2 cents,
Salt

When I was looking for our trailer (chose the 295RSX as I mentioned above), I searched for that model and found many dealerships had posted the sort of pics you described. I saw a pic of storage doors closed followed by a pic of doors open, etc. I think they're out there.

We had some issues with out TT 21FBRS, but it was easy to deal with. It is frustrating to deal with time constraints and having to travel, think outside the box and try to be patient, its tough!

I have to respond about FR quality. I have a BHX-312OK 2013, we had small issued on PDI that were corrected right away. We next had the dealer install a washer/dryer in the bunk room and they did a outstanding job. Then there was an issue with the landing gear, again the dealer made all repairs, timely. When the paint on the nose cap faded the dealer contacted FR and the authorized new paint. The bottom line is all manufactures will have issues, it's just the world we live in. It's the dealer who will go to bat for you and make repairs, that is the relationship you need. Choose wisely. Our dealer...Sun City Trailers in Colorado Springs!
My 2 cents.
