I am nice!

I am try to understand something here in your diagram aren't all the batteries wired the same? In both diagrams they are wired the same, positive to positive and negative to negative, I don't think it matters what post you come off of, as long as it's a positive post or a negative post

It does matter, not a lot..

But for a " balanced load", that's the way it should be wired.

I always thought the hot setup would be six 2V's putting out 900 AH!

I can't figure out something, how many volts would you have with six 2 volt batteries?

I just have a hard time trying to figure out how a bank of batteries knows what post you hook up too.

I have looked at the 12 volt side of life and I just don't see it. My batteries have been hooked up both ways and I can't see a difference

If you wire say
1-2-3-4.

Then hook leads to batt 4. It will always have the most load, and the most charge.

It's really up to you how you would like to wire it.
Our way, just works better.

But other ways work too!
