Help to identify the bump?
Can anyone tell me what this may or may not be? My unit is a 2013 323QB.
It feels solid when I push on it and doesn't move or flex. This is over the largest slide in the living room/kitchen.
Thanks

Zero damage! No water marks, no dimples, nothing! This side of the unit faces the sun in storage, so I thought maybe the fiberglass just warped?

It certainly looks like a frame beam, but I have no idea how it could have gotten like that. Possibly something trapped on the top of the slide as it was retracted compressing the siding in? Like a towel or other such that was flexible?

Looks like 2 "blemishes" to me.
May have to take out the paneling on the inside to see what is going on.
Out of my realm of expertise.

Ok. Thanks. We are camping this week then it will go to the dealer.
I just had the front cap repainted and they missed the top four inches . The old faded gray shows clear as day [emoji15][emoji35]
Not good

Get this looked at PDQ. I have a Cross Vthat had a very similar BUMP inside and out. I contacted FR about what I discovered and they authorized repair. What was found the header beam across the top of the bumpout cutout was supposed to be welded...it was not, never had been, and was flexing its way into a total failure of the panel from the cutout to the roof. I took it to a local auto body/Marine shop and they discovered the manufacturing oversight...$1500 repair. You also may wish to reinspect the same location in the interior...mine had it also but was difficult to see. Good luck!

Ok never mind then. My TT has a ratcheting bar that is placed on the top on the slide and locks the slides during transport. I thought if they are in use on your application that maybe they had been place on to tight or had bound during transport. Not the case then here. Sorry about your problem. Happy camping.

Thanks for the heads up! I'm out all this week then I'll take it to the shop next week.
What you explained seems like the culprit.
Seems like a dumb thing to NOT do (weld it in) when it's probably the weakest point with a slide that big.

It looks like the luan backer had gotten wet and delaminates. With the slide out in the open position look at the molding or seal directly under the crease. Inspect it for small area that would allow water penetration. Too late to do anything to the wall, but sealing the area of penetration will stop more damage. Since the wall is laminated you can't repair from inside.

Ok, when I set up tonight I will check.
Are you referring to the underside of the wall where the rubber "seal" lays between the wall of the unit and the actual slide?

I checked the area and it all seems to be intact. From what I could feel, there is no gap.
I do believe it's the header beam as described, thanks for the info.
I have been talking to Terry Milarczyk@ Forest River and he advised this is not "normal"
and has made arrangements for my unit to be transported to the factory for inspection and repairs!
Terry has been more than accommodating and very helpful with both this issue and my fading cap repair that was just completed!
I was really worried about forest river not taking care of us but Mr.Milarczyk has been awesome and knows great customer service!
Terry has made arrangements to pick our unit up and transport back to the factory to have needed repairs completed. He called it a "good will repair"[emoji106]🏻
Thank you for everyone's input and advice. I will be posting the out come once they inspect it.
Again hats off to Forest River for their outstanding customers service and having a guy like Terry Milarczyk on their team[emoji482]
