Insecticide

Just wondering what is preferred insecticide to use in our 5th wheel. At home, we use one that you spray around the inside of the house on the baseboards that works well - Ortho Home Defense. Would this be good for in the camper as well? It is a general insecticide that kills about every insect that moves. Input much aprreciated.

We use the exact same brand in both our house and our RV. Don't see any need for RV use concern. Although we rarely have to use it inside the RV. Just not many insects get inside.

This is what we have been using for 15 years, we hang the dispenser in the bathroom where we usually find the most insects under the shower skylight.
However, on the packaging it says: Not for use in occupied areas.

For the last couple years I have been using the "Off" product that you would normally attach to a garden hose and spray your yard with to discourage mosquitos and using it in that same manner (dilution) to fill a pump sprayer. I spray the site and weeds. Seems like the little blood suckers have been discouraged by it. I also like the mosquito coils if they get to aggressive. If that's the kind of bugs you're referring to.

Whenever I park the 5er at a campsite, I sprinkle this around anything that touches the ground https://smile.amazon.com/Garden-5-Pe.../dp/B004HVWB14

For inside, I spray this once a season to keep any bugs from getting comfortable https://smile.amazon.com/averPak-Sin.../dp/B00CZC27UW

We made the mistake of not using the powder one trip and the ants tried to take over. WE got rid of them and have NEVER forgotten the powder again.

Why would you treat your RV any different than your house? The only difference one has wheels

The reason I use the powder and not the spray, is you can see when the powder needs to be renewed. With a spray, you don't know it needs to be sprayed again, until the critters show up.

Permethrin is good stuff, from whatever supplier. I think it is better than Deet as a mosquito repellent. However, NEVER spray this on your skin. Also, I have seen reports that some versions remain highly flammable after drying - so don't smoke when wearing clothing with this stuff sprayed on it. (Not that you should be smoking anyway...)
