IRV33 SD card won't play?

Long story short, my 2016 Wildcat MAXX has a IRV33 and the 32 MEG SD card formatted correctly will not play and the owners manual is accentually useless. Here is what happens:

Insert SD card
Put IRV unit on "card"
Most of the time IRV readout states "reading card"
After several seconds IRV reads "open"
Nothing I do on the face of the IRV or using the IRV control can effect "open"
Nothing plays

Note;
I also turn on the TV and change inputs and on HDMI 2 I find the IRV unit but nothing suggesting the IRV is set to play a SD card. Screens just is black with
"IRV Industries" printed on screen.

How did you format the SD card? Most likely it would need to be formatted to FAT or FAT32 prior to loading your files on it.

As stated, it's formatted correctly (FAT32)

Did you try it in something else? Or try another smaller capacity or different brand SD card in the IRV just for giggles?

I downloaded the manual and see how it is useless. Who translated it? Yoda?

"19-Select. When reading the USB MP3 CD discs, such as rotate this knob can choose to play, and then click on the confirm this knob"??????????

How can they distribute thousands of these things and not take the time to proof read their manual? That should tell you something right there. I am shocked that Crutchfield offers these units for sale.

SD Play will not, Junk it is I think IRV.

Is that a 32MB or 32GB card? I'm guessing you meant 32GB card, if it is indeed a 32MB card it may not recognize it. I found this in the manual.

"Because of variations in 3rd party recording methods some discs, USB
devices or SD cards may not play on this unit."

Yes, most paragraphs in the manual would only make sense to a chimpanzee or a Star Wars Hero (LOL)! The card plays just fine in my Ram pickup system and my MAC computer so the SD card is good. These units are, indeed, JUNK! I've decided to not bother replacing it if it's defective as I see no real gain in trading one piece of junk for a second piece of junk.
Just want to be sure my problem is not "cockpit error" before I give up on it. I appreciate your help here!!

Yes, 32GB card! (sorry about that), and I've tried 2 different "brands" of SD cards with the same results.

I'd sure like to know how much they save per unit by installing this garbage as opposed to the Concertone or Jensen?

You can say what you want about the overpriced and under powered Jensen RV units, but they are dependable and are not prone to problems and software/firmware bugs and glitches like I read about with the IRV stuff. I have a feeling when our Roo finally makes it home the IRV will be the first thing that gets tossed out into the yard. Probably followed closely by the $6 speakers. I wonder if I can call and request when they build Roo .2 in a few weeks they just forget about the IRV and give me a credit?

Get this or something similar Kenwood DDX373BT DVD receiver at Crutchfield.com and add this to it 4ZONE Speaker Selector Switch Switcher Splitter 200Watt | eBay

You'll end up with a much better setup.

IRV33 SD Card Won't Play?

Check the music format. Some players play mp3 and/or wave files but not apple files. I don't think any will play streamed files that you record.

Angry

I have a friend who downloads really, really old movies - they are black & white. He gave me his discs to pic out the ones I wanted to download to view them. I picked out a bunch I thought I would like. I can play them on my TV in the house (newer flat screen, internet tv) - but the irv33 will not let me play them in the camper - bummer!! They are way beyond the copyright laws, give me a break!!!!!

I don't know if this applies to the iRV units but it may. On Concertone DVD players there is a limit on the size of the SD card it will read. On the ZX75 in my 2010 Roo it couldn't read anything larger than 2 GB. Newer models will read lager cards but not likely 32 GB. Also, I found that the MP3 files all had to be in the root directory, meaning no folders.

So, try a 4 GB card and put all files in the root directory. If that works, move up in size on the SD card and move the files to folders.

If your iRV will read a USB flash drive you could try that, too.

Owners manual states SD card no larger than 32GB, I'm using a 32GB SD card so should be OK!

IRV33 issues

As others have stated this is not quality audio equipment but you can get a more complete owners manual on the web. The IRV33 should read the card without problems, but I would try a second card before calling the dealer. My unit (brand new) has a IRV33 and it has issues. Bad speaker or bad output, no bluetooth connection, remote is only partly functional. The problem is that in a small unit you want all the combined features and replacements don't come cheap. Mines going in for replacement next week and once I've got a fully functional unit the speakers are going to be replaced (both inside and outside). It's sad but it appears that quality control and customer service are nearly non existent in the industry. Well spring is hear and we will be out on the road soon.
