Keys for forest river 5th wheel

ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEA where we can get our key to our FR 5th wheel door made? We tried a few camper places here in Port St. Lucie, Florida, but no one carries them. Tried Lowes and Home Depot as well.

Need advice....

You could try sending a PM to 'wildcat chris'. It may have to be ordered through the factory by VIN.

Edit: I imagine the problem is getting the right blank.

A quick google search for locksmiths brought up Tri-county lock and key and some others.

Our locksmiths here in Denver are quite good maybe they are as well.

A locksmith is the correct answer especially if you can pull to their shop. I think mine cost me $12 including the battery compartment key.

I thought there were only like 5 travel trailer keys in the entire universe.

My three trailers all use the same key.

I ordered extra keys from my dealer and he picked them up at FR.

You can also order them on line. If you have access to the inside of the trailer, take the screws off the back part of the door handle. Inside you will see a label with your key number on it.

Take that number to the locksmith and they should be able to cut according to the code number. Or try other dealers and see if they have the key.

Good luck.

Also forgot to mention that if you are not in a hurry you can order the keys online according to the code number. If it is just a spare key you are looking for, then you will see the 3digit code number on your original key.

If you need a replacement lock set and keys, let me know and I will send you one. My trailer has two entry doors so I bought matching locksets so my keys match. That is contingent upon you having access to remove a lockset.....lol.

Did you say you can get a lockset with keys for our 5th Wheel? If so, maybe we should go that route. Our entry lock is not in the best of shape and do you get (2) keys with those entry locksets? Let me know.

For some reason FR but non-matching locks on my 2 TT's doors. I bought a new lock from these guys so that the front door and back door use the same key.

RVLocksAndMore | RV Locks | RV Keys | Fastec FIC Locks and Keys

They sell keys as well, just let them know your key code. Fast shipping

I have no affiliations with them, just a happy customer...

DITTO - I'm a happy customer of RVLocks and More as well. Great service...great products...great people - and I too have no affiliations with them except ANY time I need anything to do with RV locks/keys - they are my one and only stop.

I am not a dealer. I just replaced my two locksets with new ones so I have matching keys to my two entry doors. So now I have two spare lock sets just sitting on a shelf in the garage.

Oh, didn't think about an issue here. Are there special keys for the Columbus? Do they use the standard storage door locks that take the 751 key? Hope not...we replaced most of them on our Jayco...
Hey, Chris C, will Columbus be offering a keyless entry anytime in the near future?
