Leaky Slide out Brand new Wildcat 275ckx

Just purchased (ordered it) 2016 Wildcat 275ckx. Maiden voyage out and woke up next morning with water on floor near bedroom slide out. Water continued to flow in long after rain had stopped which leads me to believe it had accumulated somewhere. The leak is down by floor nothing detected on wall or top of slide.

Took it in dealer got on it right away, after 8 hrs. tech thinks he found leak. Assuming this to be true do I have to be concerned about further issues like rot, delamination, from a one time event? The leak apparently is coming from the front lower level of slide. Mere observation of that bedroom design with the rollers exposed etc. makes me wonder how water stays out of there. How many layers of seals do these bedroom slide outs have?

Dan

I recently had a major leak in my big slide and had it checked out. The slide was out of adjustment so that the flap type gasket didn't touch the slider roof to seal out the water. It didn't help that I had that slide was tilting in.
If the leak was a one time and it was dried quickly it should be OK.

We had our Wildcat 295RSX for a week when we took it out for the maiden voyage. That night, with heavy rain we found that the Bedroom slide leaked down near the shower and also the AC unit was leaking through the return vent. In addition there were no water hoses hooked up under the sink, so when the water was turned on, mass flood in the kitchen. We took it back and they repaired the seal on the slide (2x) and reseated the AC unit. The sink was taken out to dry everything out at CW, so no issues since with either item.

There is some discussion and suggestion in the Wildcat section under 5th wheels. Others have had this issue and apparently FR forgot to install some backing on the bedroom slide.

The dealer put a seal under the slide where the rollers are on my 295rsx. This did NOT fix the leak. As a matter of fact the geniuses put the new seal so that the ends of it were over the side seals creating a "bucket effect" at both ends. I'm still waiting for a word on when I will get the inside seals from FR to be installed since they are missing from the factory.

I had seen a number of posts on leaking seals on the front slide out for the 295rsx model. I was interested in ordering one but found out that I was too late and that they had stopped making them. But while I was speaking to the factory rep, he said that they had fixed the leak problem on the 295. Supposedly they had found a problem and corrected it, and since both the 295 and 275 front slides are similar, I would have figured that they had corrected both, I guess they didn't. Maybe they fixed the 295 leak by discontinuing the product so maybe the 275 will be next, that's one way to fix it!

The bedroom slide in my 295RSX leaks. It's been "fixed" by the dealership 3x and still leaks. It was "fixed correctly" at the Goshen rally and it leaked on the way home.

[I didn't know they had stopped making the 295RSX!]

Angry Forrest River Quality Control has retired!

We bought a 2015 Forrest River Wild Wood Heritage Glenn this spring very excited to spend the summer camping.. Well we had it a week, and the super slide out was making a noise I felt uncomfortable with.. Took it over to camping World, and they kept it all summer. Evidently Forrest River don't know what they put into their units as they sent wrong parts to our camping world service dept three times. It took pictures, emails, & phone calls to Lippert and Forrest River to finally get the correct parts.. Now, It is back in the camping world lot to have the top seal and inside cabinet repaired and dried out..This is just the latest of the issues we have had with this unit.. The curtains were incorrectly hung which resulted in extra holes in the wall (free of charge) the microwave overheated, almost setting the unit on fire, That was also replaced by warrantee work missing and unattached molding pieces had to be re attached the lamp fixtures were installed by persons who did not know how to use a level, which resulted in more free holes in the wall.. I can not imagine how a 40+thousand dollar unit could pass any quality control point with these faults I might suggest if you are in the market for a new camping unit to look elsewhere before choosing Forrest river.

Dan, if you're asking me, the answer is No... but my 2015 295RSX (picked up in July of 2014) is going to a local dealership Tuesday to have 3 slide toppers installed at no cost to me.

To all... please don't poke the F. R. hornet nest until I get my unit home after this installation! Thanks.

I had my 2016 295rsx built with slide toppers from the factory. Been thru at least two very hard rains and no leaks. I paid $700 for the set of three and looks like it was a wise add-on. Pure luck for me, I was just thinking it would cut summer heat (it did).

Where is your slide leaking at? Can you pin point the area with a picture? I'm sure one of our smart FFM would be able to help dealers are useless. I was told by my x-dealer that FR only requires them to send 1 teck to class to make the dealer certified.

Leaky Slide out Brand new Wildcat 275ckx

I normally post pics off my phone using Tapatalk, but uploads have failed all day. The left (looking from inside) end of the bedroom wardrobe slide leaks onto the vinyl flooring on the bathroom floor. Fortunately, it does not leak on carpet. I can put a cup in a certain place near the shower and catch every drip but I don't really want water on the inside of the slide walls.

I wouldn't have guessed my dealership had ANY certification process. I think some techs at my shop were laying brick last week and some were working in a nursing facility.

My last pic post attempt just worked so I'll try a pic answer to your question.

Mr. Dan

Looking at your picture, this is exactly where ours leaked last night. I have already use two thick extra large bath towels, and the water seems to keep seeping in. It's not even raining anymore, but the leak continues. Have you found a solution yet ?

Is there a drain tube and or catch cup under there at all.. I do not have your TT but our slide has a drain tube that lays in a small catch tray (like a little tub if you will, 3x6 or so ). Water drains into this then out the trailer bellow, could the tube be out of place?
