FWIW, I discovered that LED's in the porch light do not attract flying critters. In our old trailer, every time we opened the door, being right next to the light, bugs would fly in.

Replaced my inside bulbs. I don't see any need to replace the outside bulbs (running lights, etc) other than maybe the entry door light (porch light), and i'll probably replace that soon. I consider the expense to be a one-time investment since LED bulbs have such a long service life. With my old RV I had to replace several fixtures and I suspect they went out due to exposure to heat from the bulbs - not a problem with LED's.

Portagie1968,
Thanks for the heads up on the "buying the bulb vs buying the fixture".
I had wondered why the fixtures were so expensive compared to just the bulbs.

LED lighting

Outside for life.. If you do a lot of off road trailering in a concentrated time ( we do)! They stand up forever to vibration.

I am slowly replacing the fixtures. Reason, heat, long life, low power draw and the fixtures have the ,one side on, both on. They are brighter. I have replaced 6 so far. Will get to the rest as they go on sale somewhere.
I just consider it an upgrade, and yes, I will replace the door fixture. Leave it on and no worries about heat.

LED lighting seems to finally be almost everywhere in the RV manufacturing world now! The pricing has really come in line to use it very widely and now we've even started to see some really great uses in decorative or fun applications (more to come on this!).

How important is LED lighting in your buying decision for any RV?

So far have only changed two bulbs in our unit. The 'spot light' reading lights over the bed were getting so hot so I found two multi-LED's on line. What a difference and much better light. I'll be looking at swapping more as time passes.

I switched all my lights to LED'S .We don't have power sites all the time so we save a lot power. I have the bright white & like them. I also installed them in the outside lights. I think all RV'S should have them from the factory.

I'll see if I can get some answers on this from our LED supplier. Here's their web site if you're interested:

I was asked about some of our decorative lighting (which is also now all LED) -- it's supplied by Gustafson Lighting:

Hmmm... you're right. Maybe they haven't updated their site/catalog. Let me see if I can find a more recent link or info. They are a subsidiary of Patrick Industries: Patrick Industries

We originally had a 23SS travel trailer and it had led lighting throughout. We traded it in and got a 2014 FR3 30DS which has incandescents throughout. I want to find the best way to upgrade, with hopefully just replacing bulbs. I'm afraid it won't be that simple. Our rig is in service right now, so I can't even figure what bulbs I would need.

I replaced all my incandescent lights in my 2013 Coachmen Mirada 35DL with these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1. Quality is excellent as is the brightness.

I replaced all of mine about a year ago and bought them direct from China. I hated to give them my business, but I could not afford to buy them in the US for this price. Besides, I'm sure that whatever you buy will come from China and will be marked up a bunch. I have not had a single failure. The super bright are too harsh a light and really not as light as the bright warm lights.

Does anyone know if these are the same bulbs as in the FR3? I would order them right now if I knew for sure.

These are some awesome bulbs! I just don't know which ones I'd need for the FR3.
