Can't help you with your camper decision but I've been here about a year and still don't know what I'm doing But welcome to the forum from SC.

everyone's expectations from a camper are different, but they are all made about the same and all require constant upkeep. Everything is made to be lightweight, so things do break.

Ya that true, its just some RV's are not of good quality right from the factory so I was just wondering if the Wildcat line are good or are others having problems with them ?

GVWR on that is about 8000lbs. Hope you've got a robust tow vehicle.

Do NOT fall for the "Oh, a 1/2 ton will pull that" lie. 2009 Chevy Silverado's run from about 4,000lb to 13,000 lb towing capacity depending on engine, trans, rear end gearing, crew or extended cab, towing package, HD cooling, etc. If you have the wrong one, you'll be in trouble.

Every brand has their fans and haters.
You'll find that every brand has lemons.
I'd say that Wildcat offers a good product for the pricepoint.
You need to decide for yourself if a 4 year old one is in good shape or not.
Even the top used RVs would be a bad purchase if previous owners didn't take care of them.

My last fiver was a 2010 wildcat. 29rlbs. Towed it over 10,000 with no issues other than cheap tires. Towed with a tundra. Traded in to downsize a little. It was a nice trailer.

The Trailer looks like brand new, we couldn't find any damage any where...Even the little stickers on the rims and axles are still there.
I think we will take a chance and go for it, soon as we walked into this trailer we feel in love with it....I hope to purchase bigger truck later this summer so in the mean time it will be short trips...Thanks for the replies everyone.

My first fiver was a 2006 of that same model. We loved it. I towed it with a half ton Ford when I first bought it. It's a good quality camper. The only real problem I had was that the nose decal faded after a few years. But that is partly my fault for not keeping it covered.

Good luck with you decision.

input

Sounds like the rv has your name on it. If you like it, thats 90% of the decision . You are smart to ask others though, Go for it and enjoy. You'll figure the other stuff out along the way.

you need an inverter to run the tv and dvd. and there's no way you can run a microwave with only 2 batteries except for maybe a minute and your batteries will be empty.
you do understand that you need shore power or generator to have power to the 110v AC outlets, right?
and only by plugging into an inverter, that you could run the tv and dvd on 12v battery power.

from what i've read, a 150 watt solar panel will only trickle charge the batteries. has nothing to do with powering the 110v outlets or things like a microwave.
strictly recharging batteries.

By now you should be staring at your 2011 29bhs in your driveway. Sounds like a well kept one by your description. Is this the extralite (term used excessively in rvs of all brands and weights) version of the travel trailer not fifth wheel?

One last note, Be certain that the weight label on trailer accurately relects the weight capacity of the axles, there is a label on them both, Very important on some tt of your model 2011 29bhs, as some were mislabeled.
