Our new '08 Wildcat

Our ‘08 RKBS has some new standard features that I really like.

Aluminum Wheels that look great.

Dump Valves enclosed in the underbelly and the handles on the side of the frame behind a lockable door. They are much easier to access.

A shelf in the Central Trash System that puts the trash can closer to the opening in the countertop and provides storage beneath the shelf.

A carbon monoxide detector in the bedroom.

A deep drawer on the side of the extended counter big enough for pot and pans.

The only thing that I don’t like about our new ‘08 Wildcat is the fresh water tank drain. Our old Wildcat had a small valve to open to drain the fresh water, the new one just has a screw cap on the end that has to be completely removed to drain the tank. I have already installed a valve from Home Depot on this line.

Did not mean for the above post to seem like I was mocking you.

It's just that my husband was a tire technician and I have
heard all sorts of "story's"

Drive safe!

Our 2008 Wildcat fiver came with the new front nose cap, the aluminum rims, and the twist cap on the water tank.

Our Outback (Hey Jolly, nice to see you on this forum too....huntr70) had the screw off cap also.

We got our 08 31qbh a week ago...still too much snow to pick it up and park at the house though. Before the purchase I found some videos showing the standard features for the 2008 wildcat models. I noticed the "Trail Air" was shown as the standard pin box. However, ours does not have this. I guess I will have to give it a pull and see if the ride is rough. So what does "Standard" mean exactly? In this case I was pretty disappointed...the video spoiled me.

Here is the site that had several videos:

Our 2008 was a mid 2008 model.........meaning there is one 2008 with the old front cap, our 2008 with the new front cap and al. wheels, and a lateer 2008 with electric awnings, electric stabilizer jacks in the rear, and the Trail Air Rotoflex pinbox....all standard.

Sounds like you got the mid 2008 like we did.

Yeah, that is what I was afraid of. When the dealer gave us the specs for the trailor (she was getting it in from another dealer) she said it had electric jacks, electric awning. It has hydraulic front jacks (really fast) and the awning is manual as are the stabilizer jacks. I didn't find out about the pin box not being the roto flex until our walk through. Anyone have the trail air roto flex on theirs? It is still a very nice 5th wheel, just sucks that the standard stuff is only standard on the late 2008 models. It does have the new front end cap though. I have a shortbed f250 super duty and am wondering how rough the ride will be. Haven't even hooked up to the thing yet.

I just installed a Fifth Airborne hitch last weekend, and it does make a significant difference. We'll see, as I only test ran it a few miles.

If you do decide to buy, I recommend Ebay....there is a business on there that I got mine from, he beat anyone else, including Tweetys.com by almost $100.....even with shipping. I ordered mine on a Saturday, and had it on Wednesday.

Just do a search in Ebay Motors for Fifth Airborne.

Just installed the 5th Airborne on our '05 29RLBS. Well worth every penny ... in fact, it may save having to do any more to the fiver's suspension (was thinking of Equa-Flex upgrade). Lots of mediocre roads where we camp and the pinbox has made all the difference to The One Who Knows All.
