Painted front caps fading ??

Whats up with this. AS an FYI , I just passed a Wildcat on my way to work. It had the grey colour and I noticed the front grey cap was faded and streaking. This was not dirt, it was discoloured. I am wondering if the painted front cap is a good idea or is this just a bad cap. The fifth wheel is obviously a late model unit, as I do not think the grey painted ones have been out that long.

I am beginning to rethink my research as I am starting to look at a new fiver and most have the painted caps.

I looked at a new 2013 Wildcat two weeks ago and the top portion of the gelcoat front cap was going from grey to white pretty badly. It was enough to make me keep looking at other manufactures.

Who I then noticed were having the same issues.

I am buying a new 2012 sterling from the dealer and the top of the cap is staring to fade. They have already turned a warrenty claim in on this and are taking care of it.
