Pics of Chief Joseph Scenic Highway camping trip

Stayed at Dead Indian camp ground and had a great time in the Wildcat this weekend. Took some pictures of scenery, animals and points. My favorite place to camp!

Beautiful shots of a spectacular area!

Hang onto some of those showing your RV. Never mind why, just trust me. Hang onto them.

You missed some of the best spots along the Chief Joseph Hwy. A few miles north of Dead Indian Camp Ground is this bridge over Sunlight Creek. Immediately south of the bridge is a parking area where you can look over the edge to the creek.

Across from the parking area is Sunlight Road. About 4 miles up the road is a 2 track that goes to Sunlight falls. This is a stretch of about 150 yards long with water pouring out of the side of the cliff. It is just east of White Mountain. It shows on the Service map, but I have not seen it on any other maps.

Another 5 miles down Sunlight Rd. is Little Sunlight Camp Ground. It is free, and even better, every time we have camped there, we have had the entire camp ground to ourselves. There are toilets and picnic tables, but no water or electricity.

I did not know there was a template for Sunlight pics. I do have pics of Sunlight Creek and the canyon, but not the bridge. I live 45 miles from the highway's start and have been everywhere you can go throughout Sunlight Basin/Shoshone NF. I did not take pics of all the amazing places, I want people to experience them for themselves.

I will no longer post any pics. I miss the best shots, according to the experts.

I apologize.

I used a poor choice of words. I just wanted to point out a few other interesting places along that route.

I don't. They remind me that I am sitting at home and not out camping. Of course I am kidding.
