Rear corners separated

I am on the home stretch to fixing up our new to us 03 wildcat 27rl. But the rear corners are caulked with clear silicone so I scraped it all off and it seems like the fiberglass sides are short of the corner trim attached to the rear wall. I thought I could get a flexible trim to cover the gap and then put vinyl insert trim in it to cover the screws. I really don't want to take the fiberglass sides off any ideas?

Is the source of the separation understood and now stabilized?

I sealed up some cracking caulk joints on the roof and I went around and caulked everything that sticks through the sides. Once I fix these corners I'm going to do a seal test to be sure. With the rear corners having a radius I'm not sure what trim I should use to cover this gap.

So you are saying the separation was caused by delamination generated by leaks? Is there enough intact "meat" keeping the sides and rear attached to one another???

Do you have a metal fab shop in your neck of the woods? If so, having two pieces of architectural aluminum (6063 also called "sharp") angle formed would be ideal! Depending on the shop, they might use a powered bending machine, shrinker, or do it on a wheel. Something like a 1.5" x 1" unequal leg angle would cover it all. Could even have them drill and countersink regularly spaced holes for you to screw it on, and with a proper priming you can paint it yourself to match. Caulk up the gaps before putting the channel in place, use butyl tape on each leg of the channel, install, and then finish with nice caulk beads on the edges of the angle and it'll look very close to something the factory would do.

My 03 Wildcat 27RL was doing the same as your picture shows except it was on both sides. I peeled the vinyl tape from the aluminum trim. Drilled extra holes in between the existing holes in the aluminum trim. Used 2-1/2" long screws to replace all the screws in the separated area. I started at the closest separation and gently worked my way to the bottom pulling the trim into place to cover the sidewall and resealed with sealant. Then put the vinyl trim back in place to complete the job.

The existing screws would no longer reach good wood to keep the trim in place.

Dnismenace I will try that today and see what happens I want to try and keep it looking factory if I can. I'll try that first.

In the pictures it looks like your corner trim is 3/4 inches. Your local RV dealer should be able to sell you the same style trim but 1 inch wide. But definitely make sure your leaks are fixed before hand. And you may need longer screws as mentioned to bite some good meat in the wall.
