Maybe you can get a better price if you get them repaired in bulk. Mine quit working on Friday (so much for good Friday). Interestted to see how much a rewind is compaired to new. I also have a place near me that rewinds motors, I'll post the cost after I get an estimate tomorrow

My money is still on a corroded ground.
Has anyone checked that possibility yet?

If the motor is already off the camper, twist a 10 amp fuse pigtail to one lead and use the camper's battery to check the motor. It should spin in one direction when hooked to the battery and reverse itself when the wires are switched.

Thanks for the reply back. I also took my motor to a starter rewinding place and after he checked it out he said that it was burned up and would have to be rewound. They have to send it off to have that done and it will take about 2 weeks and the estimate was $149. I also noticed at LCI that I was looking at there landing gear motor prices so I emailed them and they gave me the part number for the replacement motor. So I have a decision to make about having the old one repaired or depending on the price of the new one, which action I will take. In either case if you will let me know what you find out what your estimate is I would appreciate it. I will also do the same for you when I contact LCI and get an updated price for the new one.

Thanks,
mhav

Just got back from the shop, the spring that holds the brushes up against the armature had broken (I know I've never heard of it either and the guy at the shop hasn't seen it too often). He replaced that and repacked the gear box that he had to tear apart to take the armature out to get to the brushes sooooooo we're $35.00 poorer and back in business.

Having a brush spring break is a new one on me also. Usually when I have to change brushes I have to be careful not to have the spring jump out.

Glad you are back in business
