RRG59 or RG6 cable in

I want to install a portable satellite system in my 2015 Wildcat Maxx 27RLS.
I want to know if the exterior cable connector is RG6 cable.
Can you help....

inspect at wall plate

I would suggest that you carefully pull the wall plate inside the unit where you connect your tv (amplifier plate) and visually identify the markings on the cable itself.. that is if none of the cabeling is exposed in any of the storage areas where you could see the same thing much easier. Some times as in my case, it was just easier to install a new external coax connection plate (like cable tv input) in an exterior location where I will have the satellite dish and run RG6 to the location where I have the satellite box inside the unit. When I first looked at my trailer, the cable input line was already RG-6 but my neighbors was RG-59 which he painfully replaced.

When I was building my house and running satellite coax myself, I think I recall that RG-59 is not to be used in any satellite installation.

Edit: Better reading:

Rg-6 cable

RG-59 wrong for TV input. Always use RG-6 which has a larger diameter center wire for signal to travel on. It gives the least resistance for the TV signal.

While RG-59 and RG-6 are both 75 ohm, the RG-59 uses a braided copper wire shield and RG-6 uses an aluminum foil shield and might have a few strands of wire to enhance its grounding ability. RG-59 is more flexible so will stand up to lots of movement. There is one more cable to consider and would probably be best for satellite use....RG-6 Quad-Shield.

RG6 is lower loss and is preferable. RG59 will work. I have a house full of it working fine.

RG59 can be purchased with same foil shield as RG6. It is has more loss approx 4 db at satellite signals than RG6 but does work in short run situations. I use it at home as I had 2 spools of Belden Foil Shielded RG 59.

The TV Antenna roof connection on your RV is most likely RG 59, mine is.

Just pulled 100' of RG6 into trailer to be able to have very short runs of cable outside. Have sat. mount for pin box and ladder....nothing on ground for the fur boys to get tangled up in....now have 3 ways to hook up.
