running off battery

I just got a 2013 Wildcat 293rex. It has a fireplace in it. I brought it home yesterday and wanted to see how the fireplace worked. I was only running off the battery. Will the fire place not run on just the battery?

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new camper!

The fireplace is 120V and draws close to 15A.

The fireplace "fire light only" requires much less power, as it is only a series of light bulbs. The big juice comes from the electric heater.

The issue is that it is 120 VAC as Dave said and there is no way to separate the lights from the heater element electrically without rewiring inside the insert.
