Sky lights.

We got 2 sky lights on are wildcat. Should I be worried about hail going though those while in storage. And if so what do you use to cover those in storage.

Some here have installed Maxx Air covers to cover them full time.

X2 on the MaxxAir roof vent covers. That way you can leave your vents open in the rain too for air flow. Shouldn't take longer than 10-15 minutes to install one.

tberg If your skylites are like my 3051s skylites there is a clear plastic dome over the skylite. If this gets cracked it can be replaced. I have not seen anything to cover these while in storage though. Good luck

Ah, sorry about that some people have called the vent a "skylight" by mistake.



Someone here used some plywood screwed to a used tire sidewall and placed the tire over the skylight and I think the vents.

You would have to frame a box of some sort to sit on top and put some eye bolts on it to secure it should it get windy so it don't blow off

They are pretty tough plastic, been through a hail storm maybe dime size and no damage. I was worried to at the time. I have not seen any covers for them without being homemade.

The4 2 skylights are in the living room slide.....flush with the slide roof. On mine they seem to be fairly heavy duty.....have had some hail approx. 1/2" diameter hit them before and all was ok. As for keeping any heat from coming in....I just pull the shade closed.
