Specific Labels

Please consider labeling the tank pulls with specifics. You wouldn't believe the amount of confusion and conversation we've had over this (especially with the different labels to my spelling and grammar experts) -finally just had to get the sharpie out:

good idea. Mine are color coded Gray and Black On my first TV, I put colored tape on the valves so I would know what was what. (it only had a grey and black tank)

Sorta off topic but not really:

DH used a label maker to create a label for the battery cut-off switch, yeah, it's confusing as all git-out;

"OUT is ON"

I have a nifty little label maker made by Brother that I bought at Staples. It prints labels on 1/2 inch wide Mylar tape. It has a little keyboard and screen so that you can see the label before it is printed out.

On our rig before this one I had a label on the tongue that said "Drop 3 Links", telling me how many links on the WDH to hook up. It was easy to forget over the winter. Over the tire well, I made a label that said "50 PSI" so that I didn't have to squat to see the writing on the tire to see how much to inflate to.

By the time I was done with making labels, our rig looked like an old Batman TV show with a label on everything. But it did help.

(chuckle) yeah, ours is headed in that direction! I had a red decal made, one inch high letters, which I put on the entry door on the bottom of the window:

Antenna Down

Locking the door, putting up the steps and folding in the handrail is the last thing we do before transit, so there's always that reminder right at eye level. It's gotten some chuckles and thumb ups from other campers.

That's the same label maker DH used for the battery switch, BTW.

I agree the labels could be better but did you really need the magic marker thing? As you look at the handles in relation to your flooplan the bathroom is to the left and the kitchen is to the right and that’s the way the handles are positioned.

Mine came labeled but they did not stick very well so I bought a label maker at Staples and redid them as well as the light switch's.

I cleaned the surface with alcohol wipes before hand.

It's the handle layout that makes it difficult On our rig, the handles are color coded (Black & Gray) Our Galley Gray tank is specifically labeled "Galley"

Would I have done it if it wasn't necessary?

I understand the relationship of the positioning but not all family members could, so rather than having to always be the "handle-puller" I spent 30 seconds to fix the issue.

Copy that Boyink...not sure how "new" to RVing you are, but sewage best practices are to keep valves closed until almost full - especially the Black tank. Based on this, I am usually the "Handle-Puller"

Don't want THIS happening to the DW,DS or DD (OK might be funny happening to the DS if he is a teenager or older )

If self-labeling makes it easier then why not? Especially if it can prevent repeated discussions. Use whatever tool works for you - sharpie, label maker or other.

In the beginning I labeled the light switches by my entry door until I could remember which was for outside and inside. (Yes, the switch closes to the exit was the one for outside.) Removing the labels was easy and there's no evidence of them being there now.

Well, la ti da! I'm really impressed.

With just TOWTA and me, I could care less who pulls the handles on the tanks.
I just want to be the one that latches and locks the hitch.

Same with me but then I RV solo.

But seriously things tend to go better when there are routines with tasks assignments. I have camped with my cousin & her family but we do things differently with our TTs. If I'm going to offer help then it will be something harmless like packing up the kids toys so that they can put the container in the bay storage.

Back to the OP first post - it wouldn't hurt to have a bit more information on the labels.

With just two handles hiding under the TT, I had a heck of a time remembering what is what, especially at the end of a long weekend.
After my third trip I used a bucket to confirm which was black and which was grey.
Then I used black Gorilla tape on the black tank handle and grey duct tape on the grey tank as reminders.
Just guessing, but it appears the OP would like to ask FR to start labeling the handles based on location as well as function. I would bet they don't because of the locations coinciding. I wonder if anyone markets a set of commonly needed labels. I needed one to remind me to close the bathroom door before retracting the slide. Ouch.
