I have a 2010 Wildcat Fifth- Wheel with a Toshiba flat screen TV. It only works on 110 volt AC not off the 12 volt battery. This is not good if I have to turn my generator off at 8 PM and cannot start it again until 10 AM in certain campgrounds. Is there a way to run it off the battery? I don't see anything in the TV owners manual about this.

Can he get an inverter to run it off 12volt? I'll admit that I don't know much about electricity.

Hi,
The only way you could run that tv would be with a inverter which would run off your coach battery, it converts 12vdc to 120vac, but it will run down your coach battery in a hurry. if you have a 32 toshiba, a 175-200 watt inverter should do it.

Yep, you need an inverter. If you do decide this is needed, check the forum. Most everyone has done this mod if the dry camp at all.

Watch your wire sizes. 120 watts AC may only be 1 amp AC but it is 10 amps on the DC (battery) side. We just went over all this just this week.

I recommend you look into a 600-1000 watt "pure" sine wave inverter. They are pricey but worth the money. The "modified" sine wave inverters are much cheaper but unreliable for computer use.
