A lot of the Wildcats roofs slope down toward the back.

And I look at that nice pic, and it looks level to me!! . Just nice to see some other Wildcats. We don't see as many as we used to. In fact, we rarely see any!

In Palm Springs CA taking advantage of this unseasonably cool weather to play and pay the low season golf rates. We seem to be the lonely Wildcat here. Heading to Sequoia National Forest tomorrow.

I love the fact your old Wildcat has a Manual Awning vs. the Power Junk

And we love the power units! We only use ours a few hours for shade, don't leave it out all the time. Much easier to just push the button

Yes very easy. But if you want to leave it open for a period of time there is really no way to properly secure it in the event of a wind gust. Plus it was very nice to disconnect the support arms from the RV and secure them to the ground. This prevented one from having to walk around the lowered arms.

Right across from our site was a huge open playfield... so I played it safe and used my awing tie-downs for any gusts coming off the field.
The photo was first day after set up, I didn't install the tie-downs until next day...and we did have a few gusts... with 6 deflappers and tie-downs it was all safe and quiet.
The awning is set at an angle for rain run off.... very wet spring.

True....it does stay quite calm, but given the location, very close to the open water and known for strong gusts of wind without notice.... I prefer to side on caution.
If the winds came up strong and steady I wouldn't hesitate to roll up the awning
I've seen one get ripped off a big Monaco Motor coach here at this RV park... thousands of $$ damage .
