Yes, I'd say that I'm 3" high on the nose also. My F250 would have to squat a bit more than your F350, but I don't think I squat 3". There might be some additional squat after we are loaded for travel. Truck without trailer has about 2 1/2 inches to the overloads. With trailer, I'm still 1/2 inch from the overloads. So, I'm guessing 2" squat. Also, measured about 2" squat at the top of the rear wheel well opening.

The truck is 60" at the top of my RetraxPro cover. Add 6" clearance, it would be 66" to the bottom of the 5er nose. Truck squats 2" so now 5er nose is at 64". Trailer sitting on level ground is 61" from ground to bottom of nose. So, by those calculations, I'm 3" high at the nose.

I'm not worried about that. Most 5ers are towing a bit nose high. With load, it may come down a bit more. The equalizer at the axles will easily handle the 3" nose high. I took mine to a scale. Both of my trailer axles had identical weight; so no worries there.

If it bothers you, it is relatively easy to drop the rear of your truck a couple of inches by putting a shorter block between the spring and rear axle. Many people of done this to level their 5ers. There are no adverse effects reported to the truck with this modification.

Of course any truck squats with weight. So, I'm not surprised you got flashed towing at night. There is an additional issue likely with a Ford. All 4 lights work on "dims". So, with the squat and 4 lights, people think you have your brights on. You could always adjust your lights down a bit. But, then you would be low when you are unloaded.

I just don't tow at night; ever.

It's been "tough" at our RV resort all winter with above temps here in Arizona. A lot of 80s and a few overnight low in the 30s. I'm glad I retired and came down here.

Thanks for the detailed measurements! The only measurement I know for sure is the 3" nose high trailer measurement. I have only towed the RV obce so far and that was home from the dealer and I didn't measure exactly how much it made the truck squat, but I know it was a lot more than I thought it would.
Apparently Ford decided to soften the primary springs in their SuperDuties in 2017 to give them a more car-like ride. This kind of pissed me off, since for years U had owned 1/2-ton pickups and I was always playing games to keep the the truck from squatting when loaded by adding air bags or extra leaf springs and I thought I had gotten away from all that when I bought the F350!
I was wrong though and I just bought a Air Lift air bag system to deal with the squat issue. I also upgraded the 15" wheels and tires on the 5th wheel to 16" versions to help with the nose high trailer problem increase the load rating and ditch the China bombs for Goodyear Endurance tires.

I added airless bag by aircel on my 350 sumo on my Tundra and Timbren to my eco boost they don’t touch truck until under a load takes the removing of original bump stop on bolt each install longer bolts Aircel had to assemble bracket but was cheapest less tha$200

Yes, I believe there is more spring compliance in the first inch or two of travel on the newer model years.

When we were looking at the 29RLX, the dealer had 3 of them. Two had 15" tires and one had 16". Apparently, it was a running change during the 2018 model year. We bought the one with 16" tires for the reason you mention.
