Which camera with backup prep?
I need to get a backup camera for our just purchased 2016 262RGX. Since it is pre-wired, is it wired for any particular camera? Or is a wireless better? Need something dependable and clear to back it into our 12ft wide metal cover. Thanks for any advice.

After doing some more surfing around, I found another 2016 that had a Furrion from the factory. So, I ordered one of those. I looked all through our paperwork and could not find what brand it is wired for, it just says "pre-wired". Oh well this one should work.

I just installed a furrion on my pre prepped camera. There are a ton of threads on the topic. I think the higher end camera units have a better picture. Furrion makes two models. a "back up only" and an "observation" only differance is better reception on the one model. the power should be wired into the running lights and be on whenever lights are on.
Mine installed in about 4 minutes and pairing the two was a piece of cake. works well. overall pic could be a little bigger/better but it is better then nothing.

My wildcat came pre-wired for the Furrion. It was a quick easy installation, just a few screws. However, in the 4 months that I have had it, I have used it once. It is nice to see whats behind me but I wouldn't want to use it to guide me. That is my wife, and sometimes my sons, job and they do it well. A lot of times we arrive to sites at night. In these cases, don't even bother turning the camera on. Overall, my wife is very upset we spent the money on it. I am just a typical guy and I like having another gadget.

I HAVE to have a backup camera because my wife is terrible at giving back up directions. If I am 4 feet away from something and backing slowly she panics and yells STOP STOP!!!! I get out and see what's up and just shake my head.
Anyway, like I said I just mainly need it it back into our enclosed carport that is only 12 ft wide. Hopefully it will work for that. It has to be better than my wife.

Not a lot of 'wiggle room' that I can see. If it's pre-wired and the pod is attached, the ONLY cam that will fit the pod is the Furrion (LCI) cam. Not much choice there

Actually, there is no mount installed, just a round white plug covering the hole. But I wasn't sure if others were wired the same, so got the Furrion. With all the paperwork there was a card for a Voyager, but nothing else about it. I assume it was advertising.

Well I had a insert in my manuals that indicated that mine was pre wire for a Furrion camera. So no confusion ad that is what I ordered. Later RJD

Hope the wife doesn't read your posts. Seventy GTX! Funny - know the feeling of backing up with "help". Wife and I finally agreed that cell phones were the way to go - less arguments now.
