Which tanks are heated??

All this winter talk has me wondering about my 2016 Wildcat Max T24RG. I have two (2) lighted switches near the kitchen sink that control the heated tanks. Living in CA I never thought to ask this and can't find any literature as to which two tanks are heated. Is it the gray and black holding tanks, the freshwater tank or all three? Thanks for any insight.

As a side note, I'm not sure adding heat to a black tank is a good idea!

it appears 2 out of 3. I'm gonna guess black and gray. Worst thing happens with the water you go thirsty! Gray would stop the trailer from flushing. Black would stop you from flushing.

Switches are for gray and black water. Interestingly enough, most manufacturers either hide these switches somewhere, or never label them, or both. Leads to a lot of confusion.

It goes without saying... but I'm sure my unit is not like yours (and maybe like no other). I have one lighted switch that operates the tank heaters on all four (4) of my tanks ====> fresh, black, two grays [as far as I know... I've never metered each of them]. The light comes on if/when I turn it on whether or not it's cold enough for the heater pads to be activated. My switch is not labeled.

I concur. Mine is even different as it is 4 tanks AND a small blanket on the sewer outlet port. My switch is lighted and the light comes on when turned on.
It is supposed to be thermostatically controlled but I've never measured the current draw either. Mine is labeled Tank Heater. (note singular when in fact it isn't)

On my Flagstaff 832 I have one switch for three tanks, 2 grey, 1 black. On my unit, there is an electrical wire tie wrapped to the outlet pipe upstream of the dump valve. Nothing for fresh water except for drain. The few times we have dry camped, drain fresh water, turn on tank heaters no problems at 15 degrees. Carry bottled water for drinking and coffee. 88 - 94 cents a gallon depending where you buy it. Watch for sales on small bottled water as well, which we use most of the time. Keep a good stock of bottled water in outside kitchen so we always have cold drinking water.

One lighted switch marked on the main panel marked Tank Heater! This switch controls 4 Tank Pads,Fresh/2 Gray/Black and 2 sewer outlet valves pads plus two strait pipe runs pads! The Heat Pad MFG says liquid Must be in Tanks before using Pads,GOOD Luck with That! If it going to be below 32 F I turn ON the Pads! Youroo!!
