Wildcat Hitch Pin Height (312BHX/QBX)

Does anybody know how far off the ground the hitch for the 312BHX or QBX sits when the unit is level?

Bonus Points: for those towing a 312 with a 2011-2014 F350, how high off the bed floor is your hitch?

Thanks,
--Paul

We're towing a 2014 312QBX with a 2014 F350 LB and we set the B&W turnover ball companion hitch (http://www.sdtrucksprings.com/manual...-hitch-b-w.pdf) initially at the middle height adjustment of 17 1/4" above the bed. The 5er seemed a little too nose high there so we lowered the pivot arms to the lowest position at 16 1/4". Now the 5er seems more level while towing and it helped eliminate most of the mild chucking we'd been experiencing at the higher pivot arm setting.

We just came back from a trip to Moab and pulled 4 mountain passes along our route of travel and the truck pulled wonderfully.

I had the height measurement for the pin box at one time...but don't know exactly where I might have put it. You could always go find one on the dealer's lot and measure from the ground to the frame in both the front and the back...then measure to the pin and adjust the measurment based on the front to back difference.

Best wishes,

Subscribing to this thread as this will be my setup at some point in the near future

2014 4x2 F350 LB 4dr, just sitting in driving waiting to pull, and
2015 Wildcat 312QBX, soon to be on order
I will also be ordering the B&W 3300 Companion

I have so many questions, this is just one

Hey guys, trying to get ahead of the curve (way ahead) and installing my B&W. Since you guys have the 4x4 and me the 4x2, what position (low, middle, high) would be a good starting point? Probably don't pick up the 312QBX unit August so enough time to play......

I'm going to say middle or high because of 4x2 but it probably also depends on the hitch as well. I started on low on my hitch (Demco Autoslide, 4x4) but found I did not have enough clearance between the pinbox and the rails of my rolling bed cover...otherwise I could have used low.

Do you have the 6 3/4 or 8' bed? Slider or fixed hitch?

8' bed, also I'm getting feedback that it should be in the far forward horz position as well. I might add a pin box bike hitch (arvika).
