Wildcat MAXX 24rg

Does anyone know the weight capacity of the super cool rack/ tire carrier on the back of this unit.
I asked when we bought it and again when we picked it up... The people at camping world didn't know.
I put an email in to forest river but so far no reply.

We have had it 3 days and are on a cross country trip. What a blast!

Thanks
John

We have owned a 2015 24RG MAXX and now a 2016 28RKX MAXX and both trailers have the rear rack. The rack is rated @ 300lbs as both trailers had a sticker on the rack stating this weight limit.

We just got back from our 4,000 mile trip. What a break in cruise!
Our rack did not have a sticker and the dealer never did get back to us.
We put a Email into the manufacturer and they never got back to us either.
We will only be using it to carry the spare and maybe a generator. So I think the rack is up to the task...

Thanks again
John

The one on my 262RGX is rated at 250 #'s. Seem to be a standard rating.

Contrary to the other reply, our 2015 28RKX has the sticker, weight max is 250 pounds on the carrier. I just wish the spare tire holder wasn't welded to it!

I am also not crazy about the spare tire carrier, it seems flimsy in the down position.

I am surprised to know that the spare tire carrier is welded to the carrier rack in the rear. On my unit, a FR262RGX, the spare tire carrier is mounted under the front stage area of the RV. Is this something that is done past a certain RV length, that is, does RV length determine where the spare tier career is mounted?

On my 295RSX the spare tire is mounted upright inside the basement. It does rob me of some storage space but it keeps it secure and out of the sunlight.

Thanks for inquiring about your new Wildcat Maxx T24RG. The weight can vary on the rear rack. If you are able to tell me the last 5 digits of your vin number, I can better assist you. The range will be between 200 to 250 pounds of capacity.
Thanks,
Wildcat Steve

Your rear travel rack should have a weight capacity of 200lbs.

So it turns out I got a lemon Spare Tire holder/ Cargo rack!!

Using wildcat Steve's 200Lb weight limit I put 10 gallons of Gas and a Colman Portable BBQ on the cargo rack and it broke 2 welds on our second trip. It broke about 150 miles in. One of the welds on the tire carrier and one on the main brace that holds it to the frame. Thank god I had room in the truck to transfer the extra stuff!
I think mine must have been made on a Friday because some of the welds are terrible.

I am torn between taking it in for warranty work or just getting out my MIG welder and fixing it myself.
