2018 forest river wildwood 263bhxl

I am looking at buying the 2018 Forest River Wildwood 263BHXL. I have a few questions. Is this a good travel trailer? Is there anything to look out for?

I have a 2019 Wildwood and I've been very pleased with it so far. They are the same campers as the Salem Cruise Lites. The Salems have a silver exterior as opposed to the brown, so if color's your thing, that's always an option. The build quality is so-so, but isn't it that way with most of them? The durability has been great, nothing has broken during our first season out. If you like bells and whistles, this TT is pretty basic. I've done a lot of upgrades to it like a better ceiling fan, USB outlets, memory foam mattress, etc. Mine's a little smaller floorplan and I don't have the BH (bunkhouse) or a slide, but we love it.

Our 27RKSS is similar, a little longer and heavier, but we're happy with it. We did a thorough PDI, have a large double binder full of manuals for all the different parts they put in it. Some minor fixes in the first year - all the major items are good. Is this your first trailer? Does your TV, tow vehicle, have the proper weight rating? Will you be close enough to have any warranty work done by the dealer (a must I learned the hard way)?

This would be my 2nd travel trailer, our first travel trailer is heavier than the one I'm looking to buy. I have a 2014 Ford f150 xlt 5.0 supercrew with the standard tow package, (7700lbs) towing. I did my research. The hitch weight is alot lighter than my current trailer. And the gross weight of the trailer I'm looking to buy is a 100lbs less than 7700lbs tow rating of my truck. So I think I'm good.

Oh yes, I forgot to mention that all of the Wildwoods I have encountered thusfar have had a very heavy hitch weight. I'm not exactly sure why that is.
We purchased ours with the ducted AC and I'm really happy that we did. So much quieter. My only complaint is that our heat is not ducted, although it may be on larger models.

The hitch weight is the 2018 Wildwood x-lite 263bhxl is 70lbs lighter than my current 2012 Cherokee 28bhks. I have a 2014 f150 xlt supercrew 5.0 with the 7700 tow package. And using the huskytow.com towing calculator. Y current trailer, Cherokee 28bhks and my truck have a hitch weight % of a little 14%. And with the 263bhxl the hitch weight % drops to a little over 11%. And the Cherokee 28bhks has a gross vehicle weight rating of 7762lbs, and the 263bhxl has a gross vehicle weight rating of 7682lbs. So the 263bhxl is just under my tow rating of my truck. But I never use the fresh water tank, I always get full hookups at a campground. So o never will tow the full gross weight rating of the trailer.

Forest River 263BHXL

Our camper is the Cruise Lite so similar to what your looking at. My only complaints are, lack of outlets, especially none by the dining area or bunk bed area. Second is the paper board shower walls. I just hate that! We’ll replace with surround vinyl walls soon. Other than those 2 things, we’ve enjoyed ours. Plus we lived in it for 6 weeks after our house was damaged by Hurricane Florence.
