2018 Wildwood 171RBXL - 1 Year Evaluation

We have just completed our first full year of camping with our Wildwood 171RBXL. While we had a good year camping the issues that have cropped up did put a damper on what could have been a great year.

The first issue was the hot water heater. It wouldn't light. At trip to a local dealer revealed 2 problems - the control board had failed, and the propane regulator was not working properly. Replaced after camping for a week without hot water. Preparing for the next trip, I fired up the HWH and it ran for 30 minutes, then failed again. Another trip to the dealer, and yes the board failed again. Another new board, and we were off camping with hot water the rest of the season. Soon after that repair, one cabin ceiling speaker came unscrewed. We caught it just before it fell. Redrilling and installation took care of that. Mid season we started having a smell in the bathroom. I added more blue stuff, the smell improved but was still there. I finally found the problem as I was cleaning out the camper for the season. The Black tank vent pipe had come undone at a joint in the bathroom closet. It may also may have lost the connection at the roof vent. It's at the dealer now for repair. We are hoping for a better camping season in 2020.

Unfortunately, that's not an abnormally long list of items. Most folks have a much longer list than that the first year. The good news is that hopefully it gets better from here.

Thanks Bama. We are hoping next year is a better year. Hopefully all the issues have shown their heads this year. We love camping in this trailer as it is just the right size for both of us...... The smell was the worst. My wife says "if it still smells we are getting rid of it." I'm sure we found the problem.
I agree that this is not a significant list, but still a pain to deal with anyway.

UPDATE ON BLACK WATER TANkK SMELL:
I just talked with my service rep. He informed me the Black Tank vent pipe was installed improperly. In fact, it was 2 inches short of the vent cap base. i.e. the fumes from the Black Tank were venting into the camper in the closet behind the toilet. They are now in the process of rebuilding the vent and attaching it to the new 360 vent cap. Hopefully next season we will be "SMELL FREE!!!"

New 171RBXL Owner

We are recent new owners of a Wildwood 171RBXL and I have been attempting to register all of the warranties but have ran into a snag with the 12V 2 door Everchill frig. We did not receive any paperwork with the frig and I can not find a website to register it. Does anyone know how or if you can register the warranty for this frig?
