27BHSS door needs to be slamed to shut.

Hey all.
I'm also new here just got my 27BHSS. I love is we have been out 2 weekends now and I have been doing little tweeks as we go.

To my issue.
The outside door need to be slamed to latch. This is all the time not just when I'm set up and level (or close to level). I think I might be able to tweek the latch one way or the other to help with this but I wanted to find out what you all thought befor i did that or took it back to the dealer to look at. A long drive to have them look at a door issue.

What do you think?

Save yourself a trip and tweak it. That's most likely what the dealer will do.
Also, apply a small bit of Vaseline to the latch pin and striker plate.

Wow, that is interesting. I have the same TT we just got it two months ago and went on our first long trip last week. We had the same issue with the door. At first I thought I wasn't level properly so I moved the TT but it seem the same. Must be a defect in design.

Our 27BHSS came with Trail America tires, I also just noticed after we got back one of the tires is developing a rippled/bubble on the side...check yours.

I did check my tires and they look ok but I'm keeping my eyes on them.
Did you end up fixing your door?
Life has been crazy here so I have not had a chance to mess with it and I will looking to find out if you did and what you did.

I have the same problem with my door, also now the screen is staying latched to the frme when I open the door. I'm going to have to do a little tweaking also!

I had the same problem with mine. I adjusted clip on main door down so it holds screen door latch open when doors are together. Door closes much easier.

This can happen if you over tighten the rear stabilzer jacks and it tweaks the frame enough to bind the door frame.
I have been told.

A test would be to not use the rear stabilizers and see what happens.

I worked on it in my driveway with no jacks down at all.
I leveled it and had x-chocks but no jacks.

For the screen I slid the plastic clip forward and the screen now shuts with out to much trouble but I cannot move the door clip forward without reworking the metal of the door frame. But it looks like that is what I will have to do.

So it sounds like you just needed a little adjustment to the latch. Great!

I had the same problem of having to slam the door hard, but a little WD-40 on the latch (the part that hits the strike plate and goes in) fixed it so I can push it gently and it goes in easily.
