actual length

Hi all, we have purchased a 36BHBS but haven't picked it up yet.
My wife and I were checking out sites to park it and I was curious about the total length of this unit. The brochure says 37'6", but is this living space only or bumper to tongue?

Thanks for any help
SnE

My understanding is that TT are measured Coupler to bumper and 5th wheels are measured from king pin to bumper. I would love to know if that is true.

Most brochures and advertisements give the length in OUTSIDE box, or outside wall length. Actual living space is less due to wall thickness. I think it is illegal to include the tongue in advertised length. You can add at least 4 foot extra for the tongue on an average trailer, a few have a 6 foot tongue length. Some brochures will give overall length.

Our Salem 292FKDS is almost 34' long tongue to bumper. It will not fit into a 30' campsite.

i really can't say if it is true but it sounds likely. i have a cardinal 33ts. it measures 35.5 from bumper to front. judging by the amt of overhang in front of the hitch, 33 would most likely be the distance from there to the bumper.

I do know for a fact that the model number has nothing to do with length anymore.

We have the Rockwood 8265WS fifth wheel which gives an overall length of 28'-10" in the the specifications. The real length is 30'-4 1/2" from the very front of the unit to the back of the spare tire. I believe yours would be the same Lou. Not sure of the kingpin to bumper dimension but will check it out.

I am sure you will find that nothing in that model number has anything to do with what you find.

Mine is also 28' 10" in the brochure and it is an identical camper to the 8526RLWS we have. The model numbers are just scrambled between Flagstaff and Rockwood. Same unit; different colors and decals.

Thanks all. I guess the only way to know for sure is to wait and actually measure the unit.
