Add storage door to 261BHXL

I have a 2017 261BHXL. I am thinking about adding an outside storage door to access the space under the rear bunk.

This model has an optional outdoor kitchen (which I don't have) that normally would go here.

Just seems like a waste of space.

Anyone ever do this?

I just bought the same model, with the outdoor kitchen. I was wondering the same thing about storage under the bunk. I removed the screws from under mattress and there is some decent storage space we can utilize.

I have a 2015 261bhxl without the outdoor kitchen. I pulled up the bottom bunk and while there was some space it was mostly occupied by the fresh water tank, the water pump, and the water heater. I opted to leave it be as I didn't want to throw off the weight balance and also didn't want to risk any of those water lines getting damaged. The amount of storage gained was not worth the risk IMO.

There is nothing in this space on our trailer, the hot water is located in this area, but there is a ton of space.

Same here.. just water heater...
It's a very large area... just seems wasted

That's awesome as there is a lot of space under there. If mine wasn't filled up already I'd been doing the same thing you are about to do! Was going to put the bottom bunk plywood on hinges and use that space for all the blankets and pillows.
