Audio/Video

I just hung a TV in my 2018 241QBXL. Inside the cabinet are the 110 plug, cable/satellite, and AV jacks. A couple of questions...there is a button on the cable/satellite plate that when pushed, turns on a small green light. What is this? Next, the three AV inputs are not labeled. Any help? Finally, am I correct in assuming that a DVD can be played and show up on the TV screen with the sound playing over the speakers? Wish Forest River did a better job explaining how all this stuff works.

The button that you’re talking about “turns on” the other-the-air TV antenna. You want that in if you’re watching via antenna and off if you’re trying to use campground cable.

Yes, when playing a DVD, the sound should be able to be played over your speakers. But, it might not be hooked up the way. However, both of mine have been since the DVD player is also the radio. Not sure if your camper is the same way.

BigCreek yes, what ependydad said is what I understand. Although we haven't installed a TV in ours yet!

The RCA A/V connectors are labeled, even though not how you suspect. If you look at the end of each connector you'll notice the they're a different color (Red, White & Yellow). It just happens that they correspond to the A/V cable ends colors.

Red & White are right and left audio and Yellow is for the video signal.

While there is no question FR could do a better job providing manuals with worthwhile information... things like audio/video connections and their operation are really things your dealer should have covered with you in your PDI/Customer Orientation... along with many other R/V 101 items.

One more thing

Our TT uses the HDMI cable to connect the DVD/stereo to the TV. You will need to turn down the TV volume or you will get an echo effect hearing the TV audio and stereo audio. Not sure if this happens with a composite and analog audio setup.
