Axle Flip on a 2012 Wildwood 26bhxl

anyone have any experience with flipping the axle on a Wildwood? We just had a new driveway poured for our camper and due to the layout we totally bent the drag bars. We are considering an axle flip as opposed to using 2x6 boards. We have drug before at a few campgrounds as well. It is not a huge angle, but it is what we have due to leveling for the carport that will go over camper. We plan to take it to our local camping world for them to do the work. I would really like some feedback if anyone has done this. Thought about the wheels, but do not want to torque the frame.

Don't think I would go to any Camping World for an axle flip. If I couldn't do it myself, I would find a reputable welding shop or trailer shop with experience and have them do it or just put a 3" or 4" riser kit on it.

What exactly should I search for for a trailer shop? Not doing too well with yellow pages or google...

If you find a builder they will know how to do the job right because that is all that they do.
An RV repair shop, well, they do all kinds of stuff. No specialties.

I do carry blocks(4 2x6 screwed together) for the stabilizers and an extra step.
Also had to flip my ball hitch to re level, but I had drug that before too and haven’t since.
For 24$ worth of parts it wasn’t a hard decision plus if you ever do feel like you don’t like it, flipping it back is easy with the old saddles still in place.
Find a good trailer shop, they'll help you figure it all out.

Thanks for your feed back. Looks like we are not flipping after all. Husband has engineered a ramp of sorts for the driveway.

I had the dealer flip the axles on my 2014 261BHXL Salem Lite for the same reason. I am very happy with the results. We used to put boards under the tires to give the extra clearance that was needed but that required extra hands when coming into the driveway.now I can do it alone. The peace of mind knowing I have extra room for entering driveways when traveling is great too.

Ripley711, how does it look? We are told that the trailer will look goofy afterwards. Husband actually secured boards to the dip in the driveway so hopefully that will keep us in business for a while.

My camper is definitely taller, but I never drag anywhere. My truck is fairly low compared to most making the camper look taller. When you look at the wheel well you can for sure see more distance 5 1/4inch more. If I could have done the perfect lift it would have been 3inch and there are ways to lower my camper at least an inch but I have been happy.

I would not say it looks goofy but I do not drive in fear now that I will tear off the waste drains. I will get a photo of our a for you. It raised the unit about 5 inches total. My opinion is it should come standard this way. There is a bit of a stretch now to the first step but not enough for my wife and I to complain about yet. Once the steps break I will replace them with another step
