Backpack weight limit?
I bought a 2010 WILDWOOD 22RBXL a few weeks ago. It's the "backpack" edition. I probably won't ever carry more than a few lawn chairs, aluminum table, small step stool, etc, on the backpack.. but I wonder if anyone knows the weight limit. Mine has a weight limit sticker, but the printing has faded and is un-readable.
Seems like a I read somewhere that the backpack would carry 150 lbs safely.

I would tend to think if the sticker thats in it would pertain to the model its stuck in.
regardless if its a back back edition or not.
I dont think they would stick a weight sticker in it that didn't coincide with the unit.

I don't think you understand my question.. I am not asking about the weight limits of the trailer.. Just the "backpack". Its a rack attached to the frame at the rear of the trailer. It folds down to carry gear.. when not in use, it folds up against the camper.

Ok ten four ! Your right I didn't !
I did some searching and all the specs that I found lists the rack but no weight rating .
maybe they don't want you to add any weight to it !
I would call a the wildwood factory and ask what the 2012 spec is since they are still using it on the 2012s

I checked on the Forest River site and the X-Lite on-line brochure and the weight limit is not mentioned. I would have thought that there would be a label right on the rack showing the limit.

I mentioned: "Mine has a weight limit sticker, but the printing has faded and is un-readable."

2012 Wildwood Xlite model 24QB with back pack edition. Tag on rear drop down carrier says 200 lbs. New trailer and tag is already faded.

thanks.. that's what I am looking for. Mine has the same tag.. but it was more faded. I rubbed to get some dirt off.. and the remaining faded print came off before I read it.

I think they use the same BackPack on all models. My 17EXL also says 200lb on the label.

Wt limit
Would have to check to be sure but think the rating on ours was 200lbs.
I know it will hold more than that because I have stood on it several times. I would guess the reason for what seems like a low weight rating is that adding 500 or so pounds to the rear of your travel trailer while towing it is probably not a good idea.

Keep in mind, too, that you weren't jumping up and down on it and adding more stress the way a load will on some roads.

We have the Backpack on our 2012 26bhxlt and the sticker says it's rated for 250lbs. It looks exactly the same as the OP's. My guess is that the different weight rating is less about how much it can hold and more about the shorter the trailer, the more difficult increased weight on the backpack will make handling.
On a related note, I'm thinking of building a box and putting our 150lb generator on the backpack. Pros and Cons for this? I think it should weigh under 200lb full of gas.

I have considered hauling our generator on the backpack but to this point we have had room in our TV and I figure with the rack down that just adds another couple of feet in length I have to worry about. I know there are issues about too much weight to the rear or front and I am by no means an expert but I like the idea of hauling the generator on the backpack.

Correction: I just double checked and the backpack is only rated at 200 lbs. Sorry for any confusion - there was a nick on the label that made it difficult to read at first glance. I'm still contemplating mounting a generator on the back but be within the 200lb rating. Surely Forest River factored this in when they created the Backpack Edition. I may call a factory rep. just to make sure. Being that the freshwater tank and pass through storage is at the very front, I think this will go a long way to mitigate tongue weight being less with extra weight on the back.

I believe it is around 350 lbs on my 2013. can't confirm at the moment since my unit is at the dealer having the brakes checked. I will check when i get it back but that 350 includes the weight of the spare tire. yours problably doesn't have the spare attached at the rack.
