Backup/Observation Camera Systems

Don't know if anyone can help but worth a long shot. We purchased a 2017 Forrest River Wildwood X-Lite 261BHXL already wired for a Way Interglobal Network Backup/observation camera system. Has anyone connected a different camera system to this wiring?

I have a Furrion system hooked up on my wildwood.

Was your Wildwood wired for the Way Interglobal with a connection plug, or was there just the wires there?

It has a plug. But the camera also came with wires in case the plug wasn't there and just bare wires

Check the wiring today and there is a female connector with continuous 12 volts

never heard of a unit being prepped with any thing other then the furrion housing. should only be hot when your running lights are on.

I mounted a Furrion camera to my "prewired" Forest River Surveyor today and found it was wired backwards. So I cut and re-spliced the wires to the correct polarity and it works great.

Bought furion S cam kit off of FB marketplace for cheap (new) and plugged everything in on my pre-wired 171RBXL and worked perfectly.

My 2018 230bhxl came prewired for the furrion backup up camera. What do I need to do to get it to work? Don't see any wires or plugs on the inside of the TT. What might I need to buy to get it to work?

There are a lot of companies that make adaptor cables for the Furrion pre-wire connection. I bought a Haloview and the adaptor cable. Removed the furrion shark fin and installed bracket from Haloview made to replace the Furrion mount. Easy job. The plug wire is simply positive and negative wire that can be spliced onto any camera power lead, if you know how to do basic splicing/soldering.

All you need is the wire behind the cam face plate, plug in cam and ur done. There are no wires or plugs inside the trailer. Your cam is wireless.

Yep, what he said. The install literally took me two minutes with a screw driver in a WalMart parking lot down the road from the dealership where I bought the camper.

The only part of the install that took me any time was hard wiring a power cord for the monitor and running it up the A-pillar and through the headboard. But that's only because I have a weird dislike of loose wires and things being plugged into the cigarette lighter.

A2Pfunk, you are not the only one. I ran my power cord in similar fashion. When I am driving without monitor, I unplug it near the A-post and stash it. I cannot stand wires hanging down in my field of view. (I hang my monitor from rear-view mirror.)

Is the system a wireless or wired system? Which wiring are you asking about - the power wiring or the data/signal wiring?

If it is a wireless system, the wiring is merely a 12VDC wire that any camera can use. If it is the data/signal wiring to the monitor, that could be an issue.
