bed size wrong in literature?

I bought a 185rb xlite a few months ago. We have decided to get a new matress and I was going to order a queen size like the literature says, so I went to measure it in the camper and then to the matress store. When I measured the one in the camper it measures 75x54. I discovered that this is a standard full size. We have a king size at home so I have not been in a queen for several years but I thought it felt small. I checked the latest floorplans and it still states queen. I know its too late now to do anything about it, but seems like false advertisement to me.

does anyone have any contact info for forrest river? I cant seem to find it on the site..

When the literature says it is a queen you are supposed to know that it is a "Camper Queen". That is a different size altogether. Occasionally you will see literature where it is called a "Full Size Queen". Then you know that it is a real queen. The devil is in the details. (the details they don't tell you)

yeah I guess, I know the camper queens are also referred to as short queen, but this measurement doesn't even fit that size.
looks like on this one it is a flat out mis-representation. I got this info when I typed in short queen for camper. Looks like mine is definitely a full.
Here are the most common sizes:

  • Three Quarter Size : 48" x 75"
  • RV Full: 53" x 75"
  • Short Queen : 60" x 75" (most common short queen size)
  • Short Queen: 60" x 74"
  • RV Queen : 60" x 80"
  • Olympic Queen : 66" x 80"
  • RV King: 72" x 75"
  • RV King: 72" x 80"
  • Cal King: 72" x 84"
  • Eastern King: 76" x 80
  • RV Bunk: 28" x 75"
  • RV Bunk: 30" x 75"
  • RV Bunk: 30" x 80"
  • RV Bunk: 34" x 75"
  • RV Bunk: 35" x 79"
  • RV Twin : 38" x 75"
  • RV Twin : 38" x 80
  • RV Bunk: 42" x 80"

yes it does. Like I said, I am sure they will do absolutely nothing about it and I would have never know, unless I went to replace the matress. I knew it was small, but....I don't like being flat out lied to.

I can relate to your point of thinking it's a queen and finding out later that it's not. Often you will find a disclaimer in printed material & websites that the information listed is subject to change.

Hopefully your dealer will be able shed more light on what's going on. When I did a search on RV mattress sizes I came up with several measurements for queen and full/dbl size mattresses.

The RV dealer lied to you? Domestic Queen beds are generally 60 by 80. "Queen" beds installed in RVs are a crap shoot. Did you not do the horizontal test before pulling the TT off into the sunset?

Don't feel too bad. I ordered and shipped a trailer to Korea only to find out the "king size" beds were only 70" X 73". Grrrrrrr....

I know we should check these things out before we buy, but its things like this that businesses get away with. If they are not doing what they are advertising and is basically false advertising. Like I said, I could really care less about my bed size, we are happy with our camper, I just hate it when things are not what they are said to be.
