Any idea what kind of toilet it is? The Dometic 300 has a known toilet issue where it holds black water in its base.

It's not just that maker (Dometic), it's that specific model (300) that is having issues.

You can contact Dometic directly to have a new toilet either sent to you, or to a RV service center near you. When I had a toilet replaced (different issue), I arranged everything with Dometic and had them send the toilet directly to a local service center. They received the toilet and I made an appointment with them. They billed Dometic directly for the time. (Now, I had them do other stuff- so they got me there. )

Here's the Dometic web site:

Did you possibly leave your gray water valve open so that shower water and sink water just drains out and doesn't fill the tank? I have noticed that certain campsites with full hookups can send sewer odor up through the gray water lines and through the shower and sink drains. I closed off the gray water and let the tanks fill and dumped them as they filled and closed them right back up.

to Help others...It was the toliet. We called dometic and they knew exactly what our problem was and sent out a new toliet(different make)free of charge. We changed toliets out ourselves(which is not hard to do) and the smell is GONE!!! it was a faulty toliet the 300 model!

huh, I will have to check on my toilet model. I have smell issue also. I installed a tornado black tank flush kit and that helped about 90%. I use a clear adaptor when dumping, its amazing how much you can flush out after the tank quits draining on its own.
